Our government program to encourage #Taiwan companies like AcBel to invest at home has been a tremendous success. Over 150 firms have responded, pledging investments that will consolidate our industrial base, provide thousands of job opportunities, & generate economic momentum.

Our Coast Guard works day in & day out to keep everything from illegal narcotics to African Swine Fever from entering #Taiwan. They put their lives on the line for their country each day, & we’re committed to offering them better healthcare to reflect their selfless service.

Larisa Bakurova (瑞莎) spent years working to obtain Taiwanese citizenship, & now she is putting her athletic talents to good use training #Taiwan’s next generation of rhythmic gymnasts. She was even kind enough to teach me some moves!

Yesterday, #Taiwan lost a close friend. For over 50 years, Professor Bruce Jacobs advocated for our sovereignty and democracy, & his courageous dedication will never be forgotten. Thank you, Bruce.

Last year’s elections taught us a lesson. They showed us ways we could do better & be better. A year later, our administration and our party have made many changes to better serve the people. But one thing will never change: our commitment to #Taiwan’s sovereignty & freedom.

I was proud to witness a major breakthrough in government-private sector cooperation today with the launch of 4 new coast guard vessels. They give us the speed, mobility, & versatility we need to defend #Taiwan’s territorial waters, protect fishing grounds, & fight smuggling.
