It’s a unique opportunity to visit Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a #UNESCO World Heritage Site. This time, I invited Taiwanese tourism firms to come see #StKitts & #Nevis for themselves & introduce the beautiful scenery & culture of the Caribbean to #Taiwan.

Honoured to meet Sir Kennedy Alphonse Simmonds, a National Hero who played a major role in establishing #Taiwan-#StKitts & #Nevis diplomatic ties 36 years ago. He has been a loyal friend, and I admire his legacy of national unity and regional integration. #JFDS2019

Next stop: Pinney’s Beach on #Nevis Island. The boat ride offered spectacular views of this up-and-coming tourist haven’s white sand beaches and aquamarine waters, and I’m honoured to be the first president of #Taiwan to visit this island. #JFDS2019

Many people would be surprised to learn that #US Founding Father Alexander Hamilton was born right here on #Nevis Island. Our tour of the island today brought us to his birthplace, where we learned how his #Caribbean upbringing led him to become a vanguard of democracy. #JFDS2019

Governor-General Seaton played a key role when #Taiwan became #StKitts & #Nevis’ first diplomatic ally in 1983. Since then, he has been a loyal friend & outspoken supporter, & I look forward to strengthening our friendship & cooperation for many years to come. #JFDS2019
