I visited the National Airborne Service Corps to thank them for their selfless & heroic efforts. When a natural disaster or accident strikes, they immediately mobilize to provide disaster relief & rescue services, putting themselves at risk to save lives & help keep #Taiwan safe.

#Taiwan has valuable medical experiences to offer the world, including our successful #TaiwanModel to combat #COVID19, but we have been excluded from participating in #WHA73 due to political obstruction. Taiwan's absence is a great loss for the @WHO & the world.

This morning, I visited Air Force units in my home county of Pingtung as they began day 3 of #Taiwan’s Han Kuang military exercises. It was an honour to witness their rigorous training & dedication to protecting our nation’s airspace.

This morning I welcomed the New Year with our traditional flag raising ceremony. After a year filled with challenges, I want to thank the people of #Taiwan & especially our frontline medical workers for sticking together & working hard toward a brighter future for our country.
