เหตุระเบิดครั้งใหญ่เกิดขึ้นที่แถบท่าเรือในเลบานอน สาเหตุเกิดจากมีการเก็บสารแอมโมเนียประมาณการ 2,750 ตัน ไว้อย่างไม่ปลอดภัย ทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตและบาดเจ็บเป็นจำนวนมาก อีกทั้งเลบานอนยังเผชิญกับสถานการณ์ COVID-19 อยู่ด้วย
