Today we are joined by friends from 13 Pacific countries/areas to celebrate #IndigenousPeoples Day at the 2018 #Austronesian Forum. As true reconciliation arises from dialogue b/w different ethnic groups, my admin will continue to promote #transitionaljustice in #Taiwan.

#IndigenousPeoples’ Day is a very special occasion, a time to celebrate the diversity of #Taiwan society and culture. By embracing our indigenous heritage, we align ourselves with international values, and affirm our relationship with peoples throughout the Indo-Pacific.

We must always strive to heal the wounds of our past. This is what drives us in our pursuit of transitional justice for #Taiwan’s #IndigenousPeoples. There is still so much we need to do, so I thank all our indigenous leaders for working with us to build a better Taiwan for all.
