Regarding the gacha system in FF7 Ever Crisis, the outfits you see Aerith and Tifa wearing are actually not gacha costumes but weapons.
Unique weapons come with their own outfits, and they have a lot of different weapons and costumes planned for various characters. #FF7R

Nomura, Kitase, and Saito explain in 4Gamer they hope everyone plays CCFF7R to understand how important of a role Zack plays and how it connects with FF7 Rebirth.
Nomura also mentions locations may not be visited in the exact order as the OG.
