Super Smash Bros. Brawl contains an unused model of Luigi in his blue costume that is covered in unusual white segments. The unique appearance of the model is actually due to Luigi being fused with his own shadow. Details in image.

The official Prima guide for Super Mario Galaxy claims there is no reward for collecting 120 Stars with Luigi (top left). However, there is one: the Grand Finale Galaxy is unlocked. This could prevent players from seeing all content by dissuading them from completing the game.

In Super Mario Galaxy, if Mario is attacked by multiple Slurples and they are defeated with Star Bits, as long as Mario keeps running, he will become glitched and act like Slurples are still attached to him. After about half a minute of running, he will become invisible.

In Yoshi's Island, if a cloud Yoshi is riding is destroyed while he is using a watermelon item, Yoshi will fall to the ground and start licking uncontrollably. He will stop responding to any input and simply continue licking indefinitely.

A detail from Mario Kart 8 may reveal an aspect of power-ups in the Mario series. In that game, Tanooki Mario is lighter than Mario and Cat Peach is lighter than Peach. This implies that these power-ups help increase the users' agility by literally reducing their weight.
