This is true; those politicians are still in power. twitter.com/NileGardiner/s…

For those asking from around the world how Britain has gotten into this mess: - The Conservative Party has always been obsessed with Europe - This caused divides making the party hard to manage - Back in 2015 then Prime Minister David Cameron had an idea
1778
- He promised a referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU if he won the election - He won the election - The referendum was held; 52% of people voted to leave the EU - David Cameron resigned
1779
- Theresa May became Prime Minister saying that “Brexit means Brexit” - It turned out that nobody actually knew what Brexit meant - She called an election and lost the majority
1780
- She couldn’t get the Conservative party to agree on a Brexit deal so she quit - Boris Johnson became Prime Minister promising to “Get Brexit done” - He called a general election and won a majority
1781
- The UK left the European Union in January 2020 - Major Brexit issues remain unresolved and it has negatively impacted the UK economy - Boris Johnson was forced to resign in disgrace in July 2022 following a series of scandals
1782
- Liz Truss was selected to replace Boris Johnson by members of the Conservative Party - She announced a raft of unfunded tax cuts to “grow the economy” - The economy collapsed - She sacked her chancellor - She resigned Fin.

People are asking me if the Tories will make Johnson Prime Minister again. It’s unlikely given they forced him to resign in disgrace 3 months ago BUT they are desperate and petrified of how unpopular they are and petrified, desperate people do stupid things…
1784
And it would absolutely be stupid. Johnson’s been found out and is widely disliked. If the Conservatives tell the electorate that he’s the best they can offer then the electorate will undoubtedly remove them from office. But petrified, desperate people do stupid things.

Boris Johnson has been on holiday in the Caribbean while he should have been representing the people of Uxbridge in parliament and helping them at surgeries, but he’s returned early to convince Tory MPs that he’s changed. And some of them will believe him.
1790
The Tory party are the partner of a serial adulterer who keeps promising to change; they are weak and enthralled so keep accepting the lie and welcoming them back. Their fatal problem is they then hoist the cheater on the entire public, who can see his pants around his ankles…

“Have you been miss sold PPI?”

Doesn’t he look tired?

Boris Johnson finally meeting the standards required… of eleven year olds. Demand better. twitter.com/Steven_Swinfor…

108 days since telling Boris Johnson he had to resign, Nadhim Zahawi is now calling on him to come back. Not hard to see how the country is in such a state with these people in charge.

And you’d better believe that he ain’t the only one. Luckily my pal @ConorGogarty kept receipts: twitter.com/ConorGogarty/s…

Boris Johnson is out. Those 100 MPs who were definitely, absolutely, positively backing him will be devastated.

Thanks a lot Boris, this lot are in tears now…
