Having seen it with a full house at @FrightFest, I can confirm any self respecting horror/thriller fan simply has to see #Barbarian opening day. Go in cold, read nothing, skip the trailer & head on a ride with this twisty gnarly blast of a movie. Howls of fright & fun throughout.

I’m devastated that the great Brad Allan has left us far too young. He was simply one of the best action directors & designers out there. I was lucky enough to work with him twice (on Scott Pilgrim & The World’s End), and call him a friend. I have more to say about this genius…

When location shooting #lastnightinsoho outside the Toucan, Terence Stamp questioned a shot I was setting up of the stairs to the basement. When I asked why, he said ‘This staircase isn’t good enough to be in a movie’. It is in the film & now immortalised on a plaque there too.

A photo by Jason Bryant of the fallen spire from St Thomas’s Church in Wells, Somerset. The actual church in the film is the nearby St Cuthbert's Church, but still a little too close to the film for comfort. Adam Buxton was safe and well in Norfolk btw.

It's cute that we still continue to make cinema, since the art form arguably peaked in 1996 when they released the US version of 'Rumble In The Bronx' and slapped Ash's 'Kung Fu' over the end credits.

For those who had an inkling Spielberg had a great musical in him (see set pieces in both 1941 & Temple Of Doom) will be giddy at the sheer verve of his 'West Side Story'. I was knocked out by it. Tony Kushner's changes to the script are smart & emotional too. A big screen must.
