Yesterday afternoon, attended the lauch of Dr. Miria Matembe's book, "The Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Betrayed." Classic tale of hope, aspirations and betrayal- the Ugandan story! Every Ugandan needs to read this provoking, revealing book. Got copies for my ghetto people.

We had a workshop with some of our leaders in Kakiri town. About 8pm, police and the military surrounded the venue and stormed the meeting. Switched off the light! They declared the meeting illegal! Instead of breaking our resolve, thi impunity only strengthens us to soldier on.

The dictatorship is in panic. They've been surprised by the massive enthusiasm and support we've been received with in all parts of the country. They just can't imagine what would happen if they allowed our people to meet in these areas. They are right to be VERY AFRAID!

One of our first assignments as a nation when the dictatorship is gone, will be to professionalise the national army and get it out of partisan politics! Museveni continues to abuse the army because he views it as his personal property, the same way he views all institutions.
