Taiwan had so far remained mostly COVID free. Now we are facing community transmission for the first time. But we will keep working together and caring for each other. We will get through this.

Today Taiwan 🇹🇼 received a donation of 400k vaccine doses, this time from Poland 🇵🇱. Previous donations came from Lithuania 🇱🇹, Czechia 🇨🇿, and Slovakia 🇸🇰. We are grateful to our EU partners 🇪🇺. We can do big things together.

Becoming a bilingual nation by 2030 is our goal. Fluency in English and Mandarin will make Taiwanese society more open and dynamic. Taiwan is transforming into a country more welcoming to immigrants, and more willing to engage with the world.

Stronger ties between Taiwan 🇹🇼 and Lithuania 🇱🇹, and the rest of the EU 🇪🇺, are a positive development for stability and peace. Being pro-Taiwan isn’t being anti-China. This isn’t a zero sum game.

Seeing the Taiwan Defense Act and Taiwan Invasion Prevention Act being proposed in the US, reminds me of my post-election visit to D.C. I was deeply moved by the bipartisan friendship I was met with. I felt our win was not just for our party, but most importantly for democracy.
