Donkey Kong Land uses a reference to the British rock band Pink Floyd as an integrity check. Four "PFLOYD" strings are found in the code. The game checks if all four are present when the game runs; if they are not, the save files are deleted.

Left idle for a minute in Super Mario Sunshine, Mario will adjust FLUDD's belt (left). However, the same animation is also used when Mario is not wearing FLUDD (e.g. in the file select screen or in the secret courses), leading him to still adjust his nonexistent belt (right).

In Super Mario Sunshine, if Mario collects a Shine Sprite shortly after being hit with an electric attack, the deformation of his model that is part of the hurt animation will continue into the Shine Sprite collecting cutscene, distorting his face.

In Super Mario Galaxy, if Mario walks very slowly against the crenellations of the platform where he first meets Rosalina in the Gateway Galaxy, his animation will begin to stutter. Mario will continue vibrating as long as the Control Stick is tilted slightly.

The Shy Guy airships from the giant battle tutorial in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story can be loaded into normal battles by modifying the code, unlike all other giant battle enemies. They appear very small, have no attacks and die to any damage, but are otherwise functional.

The way the blue rings around Wario's eyes interact with his eyelids is inconsistent. Sometimes the eyelid covers the ring, sometimes the ring surrounds the eyelid, sometimes the ring disappears when the eye closes and sometimes one eyelid goes over and the other under the ring.

Nintendo of America's official site for WarioWare: Twisted featured a downloadable desktop widget that would display images of randomly matched heads and bodies of Jimmy T., Orbulon, Spitz, Mona, 9-Volt and Dr. Crygor. Below are all the mashup graphics extracted from the program.

In the Super Mario Maker series, if Bowser is placed directly into lava, he will die upon spawning. However, Bowser starts spitting fire a few screens before actually spawning. This can lead to a "phantom Bowser" situation where his flames appear while Bowser himself does not.

I discovered what I believe to be an undocumented glitch in Super Mario Maker 2 that allows any course to be loaded with comments from any other course, effectively "transplanting" the comments. Details below. Please let me know of any previous documentation for proper crediting.

In Mario Kart 7, the Lakitu driver's right hand is always open, while his left hand is always a fist. This can be seen in-game during his hurt animation (top). The reason for this is that he reuses the NPC Lakitu model, whose left hand is closed to hold the fishing rod (bottom).

Clearing the Special Zone in Super Mario World provides an extra bit of added difficulty. Normally, Buzzy Beetles shake before starting to move after being stunned. However, after beating the Special Zone, they start to move without shaking, providing no warning to the player.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, if Luigi is made to burrow in the ground in a precise spot at the bottom-right corner of a ledge, he can leave the ledge and burrow in mid-air. This appears as Luigi's hat floating in mid-air in front of Mario (note the shadow under the hat).

In Paper Mario: The Origami King, Bobby's attack sometimes misses. While this appears to be random, there is actually an indicator beforehand that allows it to be strategized around. If during the lineup phase Bobby has no "Z"s above him, he will hit. If he does, he will miss.
