On the My Nintendo website, the user's Mii will be engaged in a random activity on the top of the page. One of them is painting (left); clicking the Mii will reveal one of 8 paintings that appear with varying rarities (right), 5 of which are related to the Mario series.

In the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 2, one of Princess Peach's invincibility frames after picking up the Super Star resembles Princess Daisy, particularly her older design with the pink crown; however, this is likely to be a complete coincidence.

In Super Mario Sunshine, Mario can clip through a corner in the Blooper race track in Ricco Harbor, whereupon it is revealed that the track is floating in space, like the secret courses. Once out of bounds, Mario can run around in space, but can never return to the track.

In Super Mario Maker, all of Costume Mario's forms in the Super Mario Bros. style have a special pose activated by pressing Up, called "appeal" internally. There is an unused "appeal" sprite in the code for Weird Mario as well, which makes a third button appear on his overalls.

The packaging for the 1993 licensed "Radio Boy" features partial original artwork of Yoshi listening to the device. Using the source for the unmodified image (the 1993 game Mario & Wario), I attempted to restore the full version of the artwork.

Unlicensed "Super Mafio" toy car. Note also the "W" emblems on the Mario artwork, the "Maior Stunt" logo on the car itself, and the head of Baymax from 2014 Disney animated film Big Hero 6 attached to the front of the car.

If cheats are used to make Mario die during the credits to Super Mario Galaxy, the ending screen will display both the "TOO BAD!" and "THE END" text at once, except the "TOO BAD!" text will be covered by a frozen cloud particle animation that will make it appear as "TO AD!"

In Super Mario Galaxy, quickly spinning and Ground Pounding as Flying Mario will cause him to stall while making many "wah" and "yah" noises. This is difficult in the Wii version due to the motion controls, but easy in the Switch version due to spinning being mapped to a button.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wario is able to get up after losing all HP in a Stamina Brawl and continue fighting despite his HP display being completely gone under specific circumstances involving his Final Smash. Details in image.

Nintendo of America's internal guide for Nintendo DS graphics programming contained bizarre Mario-related example images that combine various graphical styles. Below are some examples.

In the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Origami King, the Whispering Woods is called "デクの山" (Deku Mountain) and Ol' Grandsappy is called "デクじい" (Grandfather Deku). This is a reference to the similarly elderly and mustachioed Deku Tree from the Legend of Zelda series.
987
In Paper Mario: The Origami King, characters have back sprites for all animations, including ones that would never be seen from the back during regular gameplay. One of Bowser Jr.'s unseen back sprites has one of his legs detached from his body, floating in midair high above him.

A 1995 officially licensed Mario quiz card featured an Inca sun in a Mario style. By coincidence, it looks similar to the Shine Sprites from Super Mario Sunshine, which appeared 7 years later; particularly a hypothetical "Grand" variant, analogous to Grand Stars.

In New Super Mario Bros. U/Deluxe, standing still near one of the small yellow butterflies will make it land on the character. For the Toads and Luigi, the butterfly will land on their mouths; for Mario, it will land on his nose. The butterfly will never land on Nabbit.

Some older video games feature "kill screens", where the game crashes due to playing too well and getting further than the developers anticipated. A lesser-known kill screen can be seen in the NES version of Donkey Kong Jr., where the game crashes if beaten 134 times in a row.

Title screen and all Mario sprites from the PC demo for Super Mario Bros. 3, submitted to Nintendo in 1990 by id Software, makers of the Doom and Quake franchises. Nintendo turned down all collaboration with id, citing they had no interest in Mario games being available on PC.

The back of the Japanese box for Mario Party 3 shows the game's playable characters as board game pieces with stiff poses. As a consequence, this is the only existing official render of Waluigi standing up completely straight, as his knees are bent in all other artwork.
993
In Paper Mario: The Origami King, there is a room where Professor Toad tells Mario "Don't leave without me!" Contrary to expectations, using glitches to do that does not result in Professor Toad being absent - instead, the game overcompensates and spawns two Professor Toads.

When playing with 2 or 3 human players in Mario Party DS, Player 1 has an unfair advantage as the CPU players will always steal items from the other players first before even considering stealing from Player 1. Details in image.

In Super Mario Galaxy, if the player falls off the ray surfing track after finishing and hits the death barrier on the same frame as the minigame ends, the character will be transported to the winners' podium. However, he will then immediately fall through the ground and die.

In the first turn of the opening Bowser battle in Super Mario RPG, Peach is actually present as an enemy with a Speed stat of 255. If Mario is hacked to have matching speed, he can target (left) and attack her (middle). Peach has 10 HP and awards a coin upon defeat (right).

In Super Mario Bros. 2, the animation of launching in a rocket ship usually takes a few seconds. By dropping a POW Block immediately after launching, the rocket's speed will increase drastically.

In Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, unfinished out-of-bounds areas of the game have large floating "WIP" signs for the benefit of the developers. Using a glitch that allows him to walk on air, Bowser can reach these areas and see the signs.
