In Super Mario Sunshine, Mario can clip through a corner in the Blooper race track in Ricco Harbor, whereupon it is revealed that the track is floating in space, like the secret courses. Once out of bounds, Mario can run around in space, but can never return to the track.

In Super Mario Galaxy, quickly spinning and Ground Pounding as Flying Mario will cause him to stall while making many "wah" and "yah" noises. This is difficult in the Wii version due to the motion controls, but easy in the Switch version due to spinning being mapped to a button.

In New Super Mario Bros. U/Deluxe, standing still near one of the small yellow butterflies will make it land on the character. For the Toads and Luigi, the butterfly will land on their mouths; for Mario, it will land on his nose. The butterfly will never land on Nabbit.
