5. Under #nationalsecuritylaw and #Beijing's #wolfwarriordiplomacy, it's worrrying that similar intimidation will happen in #HK, esp when #Chinese data companies were found actively spying the world’s influential individuals and constructing database on behalf of #CCP government.

Peoples overlooked by an international system built around the idea of nation-states must work even harder than otherwise to "prove" their "worthiness" for rights and representation, like minority groups in diverse societies. TW has far exceeded that bar and is still neglected.

4/ Even civil servants slam the new order as ineffective, not to mention that many arrivers frankly told reporters today that they will not follow the rules.

3. As Wang says, by throwing all the political leaders behind bars, what Beijing plans is to kill the whole generations of dissents.

2/ At the moment when I left, one of the agents stared at me and recorded the time with his hand-free device. He did the same when my friends left. Clearly, he was recording how long and when we stay at the building and analyzing our behavioural patterns.

2/ #Taiwan’s participation is critical, especially after #China’s medical advisor Zhong Nanshan has just warned of #secondwave of infections. Taiwan exclusion from WHA will only have deadly implications & risk #HealthForAll, by blocking Taiwan’s valuable experiences & expertise.

3/ The new law will definitely create massive political & legal uncertainties in this global city that affect civil society & foreign business. The loosely defined “foreign forces” will also put all ex-pats & travellers at risk amid the rise of China’s #wolfwarrior diplomacy.

4. Such #Beijing interference intensified before #nationalsecuritylaw. As @amnesty report says, #Beijing & its loyalists increasingly use “threats, bullying and harassment” to stamp out voices criticizing #China’s human rights violations in HK & #Uyghurs.

2/ Solely in #Hongkong, throughout #hkprotests last year, #hkpolice has been using Cellebrite's hacking technology to crack at least 4000 #Hkprotesters’ phones without consent, with our private conversation used by authoritarian regimes for political purges.

2. While Singapore successfully held a general election earlier this month, #Carrie lam just announced to propose the election. It is expected that Beijing would decide on whether incumbent legislators (who were disqualified yesterday) can extend tenure by redefining Basic Law.

3/ Afterwards, I was tailed by car VE3492, hoping to follow me to another destination. Once realizing my fds discovered them, the car completely violated traffic rules, ran the red lights and turned a U-turn at the straight-ahead-only intersection, nearly leading to car crashes.

3/ Frankly speaking, I cannot imagine how far Beijing can go. They could arrest activists, throw us into jail; or they could send agents and mobs to intimidate and attack us and our families. Noting that they already did this long time ago. This trouble is not merely owned by me.

1/ We also send a message to those in prison that HKers won’t forget why we are here. We will carry on with our determination in the new year. However, tyranny is afraid of the will of the people. #Beijing chooses not to answer it bravely, but cowardly suppress it.
