One Donner film I saw young & return to often is The Omen. Because it's oft imitated, it doesn't get the credit for being a perfectly paced & performed horror movie. I think of it as the first 80's movie in the 70's. David Warner's story in it is burned in my mind forever. 2/3

Last Night In Hollywood. Such a magical night at the Academy Museum last night. To be reunited with Anya, Thomasin & @WeWriteAtDawn for the last premiere was really special. I'll also never get over the surreal experience of watching London onscreen in LA. Thanks to all who came.

Go see @Lin_Manuel's Tick Tick... Boom!; a remarkably confident debut from that far too talented EG-T adjacent bastard. Especially loved the All That Jazz style editing, combining separate timelines into an dizzying whole. A perfect part for Andrew Garfield too. You will enjoy!

Very much enjoyed @billyeichner's 'BROS'; a frank, funny, emotional film which walks a high wire act from gleefully subverting the rom-com genre to making a beautifully sincere entry. Big big guffaws throughout. Billy & Luke Macfarlane are beyond charming in the leads. Go see x

Rewatched ‘Delicatessen’ last night for the first time in a few years and, my word, the further you get away from it, the more magnificent it becomes. Such a well made, brilliantly constructed and funny film. One of the best debut features of them all.

I finally watched ‘Small Axe: Lover’s Rock’ and while I’m terribly late to the sweaty wallpapered house party, I would like add to the chorus decreeing that the sequence set to Janet Kay’s ‘Silly Games’ is one of the finest uses of pop music in film.
