Today, alongside other leaders of the National Unity Platform, we met and had fruitful discussions with His Highness Dr. Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, who is also the Titular Head of Muslims in Uganda. We are energised to continue awakening the consciousness of our people

On this day in 1956, a man who would have one of the greatest influences on our country was born. Dr. @kizzabesigye1 has stood for the rights of others & borne immense personal sacrifices in the struggle for freedom & democracy. Very privileged to call him friend. To many more

(I walked the red carpet with the world's top stars. I had almost forgotten how to be among stars 😅)

We demand for her immediate and unconditional release. If she committed any offence, she should have been taken to court within 48 hours and tried in accordance with the law. There must and shall be justice for these crimes against humanity. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

9. I hope this explains why we believe that Jamil Mukulu and his co-accused persons are being politically persecuted and they deserve "a fair, speedy and public hearing before an independent and impartial court established by law" as envisaged by Article 28 of the Constitution!

As schools close mid-term & gov'ts take a raft of measures to control the spread of #COVID19, I stayed home to receive the little ones. First things first: Wash hands! We're praying for the world; rooting for health workers, and mourning with those who are losing loved ones.

Earlier on, we had an event where we received many leaders joining @NUP_Ug from the sub-regions of Lango, Acholi, West-Nile, Karamoja, Rwenzori & Teso. We also received NUP leaders from those areas and 11 NUP Guild leaders. Ours is a mission to freedom! #WeAreRemovingADictator

Unbelievable! Eight months and the scars visible, some wounds fresh. They speak of how soldiers beat them up, cut their bodies, placed burning cigarettes on their private parts, and injected them with unknown substances. All this while, their arms were tied to the back.

Our Hotel in Bugiri has been raided by the military and police. Several of my team members are arrested and more being forced to open their rooms.

2. Jamil Mukulu and others were subjected to the worst forms of torture- e.g. water boarding. Torture is prohibited internationally. They say they were forced to eat pork and drink alcohol against their religion! In a functional judiciary, such actions would invalidate a trial.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed."

I send sympathies to fellow leaders & artistes in Tanzania. My prayers are with every family that has lost a loved one. May you find solace & peace in the Lord who promises never to leave us nor forsake us even in such trouble.

If our own MPs, elected by us, cannot listen to us on anything, including redeeming us from exploitative taxes, then we must realise that WE ARE ON OUR OWN and work each day to liberate ourselves. No one else will do. Teli kuzikiza. #Twebelelemu #PeoplePower

The Holy month of Ramadhan is upon us. May the Mercy of Allah (SWT) envelope us. May He ease all our difficulties. May He grant us Iman, peace, forgiveness and barakah! May He bring healing to a hurting world. To all Muslim friends around the world, Ramadhan Kareem!

Ugandans recall how money meant to support vulnerable families with food during the last lockdown was swindled and the food itself couldn't reach most people. Liberation is the solution. As long as this corrupt, inept regime still illegally presides over, we are bound to see this

Hello Nakawa
1570
As I have repeatedly said, ours is a struggle for fairness and justice. It's a struggle for equal opportunities for all Ugandans regardless of gender, religion or ethnic origin. It's a struggle for inclusive economic development. A struggle against cronyism and kleptocratic rule.

Gen. Museveni, so afraid of a critical microphone is doing everything to silence it. He recently registered himself as a musician in another desperate attempt to counter us. Has been attending concerts of his praise singers. All we say, let there be fairness! This is our country

A quick recovery to you madam Speaker! @Parliament_Ug

Every time they murder someone, security agencies will claim the person was violent towards them. But as we know, so many Ugandans (including me) have been framed with bogus, untrue claims by the regime. There must be due process of law. #M7NovMassacreUg #WeAreRemovingADictator

"And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" ~ Micah 6:8 Wishing you all a blessed Sunday, even as we reflect on these timeless words of scripture.
