Distressing reports of a UPDF soldier in Somalia shooting dead 3 colleagues. My sympathies to the fallen soldiers' families. Hope shooter faces due process, but also that concerns of mistreatment and unpaid soldiers in Somalia are addressed to prevent future tragedies.

It's exactly one year after Arua. That day, many of us nearly lost lives. My driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot dead. Grateful to the world for standing with us! As we remember that day, may we all recommit ourselves to the struggle for human rights, justice & freedom. #PeoplePower

The Constitutional Court's ruling on "Offensive Communication" comes as a timely respite for the several youth presently in detention or on trial for their anti-regime views.

Thank you @DailyMonitor for this article which generally captures my thoughts. We shall soon launch our citizen-led agenda for a new Uganda. The headline on death penalty though is misleading (misquoted). I have always been opposed to mandatory death penalty for obvious reasons.

The people here spoke of massive land grabbing by the powerful and mighty. This lawlessness will only come to an end when the Museveni regime is out of the way. That's the most urgent task! I thank the people of Nakaseke for the warm reception. There will be justice!

Machete's mother spoke of how his son was badly tortured to a point of bleeding profusely through the nose, one month after his abduction. Matovu Abdul's mother spoke of the pain they have endured all these months without the son who was the sole bread winner for the family.

Since Nov 2020, we still have hundreds of our people completely missing. We have secured "habeas corpus" court orders for several of them. They've been ignored. Every time they dump or release one, they tell us of the hundreds still rotting in those dungeons! The impunity! twitter.com/KakwenzaRukira…

Unsurprisingly, this is becoming a 'normal' occurrence. That's what happens when there's no rule of law.

In a functioning state, allegations of this nature would be investigated in a transparent manner, instead of intimidating the nation into silence. Every attempt to silence citizens on possible murders only leaves them asking what you're trying to cover up!

In the ghetto we say, "He who Jah bless, let no man curse." Always uplifting to get prayers, blessings and words of encouragement from clergy across different religions and beliefs. They give us the clarify of thought and the courage to stand against all injustice and evil..

Also paid a visit to our senior comrade Mzee William Byarugaba at his home. Mzee Byarugaba, who heads the @NUP_Ug Elders Wing, has been ill for several months. Encouraged by his commitment to the cause, even amidst these health challenges. Wishing him a full and quick recovery.
