A great delight spending the day with these great men and women who we love to call foot-soldiers! These are mostly young men and women who do not hold any formal position, but they are #PeoplePower leaders in their respective areas of influence. Leaders without titles!

We had a one day retreat with them at One Love Beach, Busabala and appreciated them for the great work they have done these past few years to push the struggle against Museveni. Charged them to do more and more until our country is free. #PeoplePowerOurPower

Standing in solidarity with you Dr. @kizzabesigye1 as you approach your 5th day under house arrest; a punishment you're being subjected to for daring to protest against the skyrocketing cost of living!

The differences in our respective political approaches have not blinded us to the honour, fortitude and commitment with which you have gone about resisting oppression. ✊🏿

Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad is celebrating his birthday today from prison. Like many other comrades of ours, he has been remanded without trial for over 7 months, so far. But freedom is coming!

We just returned from Soroti where we laid to rest our brother and comrade, Ejoku Elias. Elias was our mayoral flag bearer in Soroti. He has been on the NUP Mobilisation Committee for Soroti District and before his gruesome death, used to host most of our activities.
1658
Ejoku had come to Kampala to do some work on Friday last week. By Sunday, his body was discovered at the mortuary in Mulago with several injuries on his head and his hands. Till now, the family is trying to get the post-mortem report without success.

There was an attempt to say he was killed by robbers, but the money he had on him was found intact. All circumstances point to a sinister motive. May God grant comfort to the his family. May we soldier on, until the mission he invested himself in, is finally accomplished.

I am not your brother and I'm not competing for your father's shoes. You're entitled to M7's shoes, cows and even his hat. One mistake you make is to think that Uganda is one of your father's properties for you to inherit. twitter.com/mkainerugaba/s…

I thank the Mobilisation team under the leadership of Chairman Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu for the great work they continue to do all across the country in mobilising our people. #PeoplePowerOurPower #WeAreRemovingADictator

The women who came mostly from the markets came to show their full commitment towards removing the Museveni dictatorship and establishing a New Uganda where they and their children will live in dignity.

High on the agenda was the question of skyrocketing commodity prices and what we must do to resist the regime and ensure that taxes come down, hence reducing prices. Women have been at the helm of successful revolutions world over and I believe it will not be different in Uganda

We shall not repeat until our people are treated with dignity!

As we arrived in Omoro yesterday, we received terrible news of the passing of two comrades Waiswa Denis (Iganga) and Yakubu Kiggundu (Kawempe) in a car accident. May their souls rest in peace. Praying for comfort for their families and all of us who worked with them.
1667
Yesterday, by the time we got the terrible news about the accident involving our people, we were entering Omoro County. This is the kind of reception we received. Despite being a scarcely populated district and having arrived late, we found people waiting for us at every stop!
1668
I thank the people of Omoro for the love and support towards NUP and our candidate, Hon. Toolit Simon Akecha. No wonder the regime went into panic mode and the military started arresting our leaders and mobilisers throughout the night.
1669
We checked on our comrades who survived yesterday's accident at hospital. They are steadily recovering. We shall be praying for their full and quick recovery.
1670
I thank all leaders and comrades who turned up in thousands to bid farewell to our dear brother and elected councillor, Yakubu Kiggundu. This solidarity gives me hope for a better future.
1671
The pain of losing one comrade is too much, but the pain of losing two solid comrades in one day is indescribable. Today, we yet again said farewell to a most treasured comrade Waiswa Denis, in Kamuli. I thank all citizens who joined us in giving our brother a dignified send-off.
1672
May your soul rest in power bro. Till we meet again. Those of us who are lucky to be alive today can only keep your legacy alive, by continuing to push the struggle for which you made incredible sacrifices!

Deepest condolences to you my brother @nickopiyo. We thank him for giving us such a great human being that you are. May his soul rest in peace. twitter.com/nickopiyo/stat…

Aloyo Hadijah was captured in this picture, beaten up by LDU for selling mangoes and oranges during lockdown. Her daughter Mbabazi Rose graduated from Makerere last week. This story represents that of many Ugandans. The adversity and indignity will come to an end. Congrats Rose

Very delighted today to address and officially close the two-day retreat of the @NUP_Ug Institutions Wing. The retreat was intended to orient and train the students' leaders who have won in different universities under the #PeoplePower/ NUP ticket.
