Images like these remind me every day of the environment in which we operate. They also remind me of the importance and the urgency of the task ahead. #WeAreRemovingADictator

Woke up to this beautiful gift from my daughter Shalom. These kids seem to know how much I love their mother and how much she loves me. Happy 10th wedding anniversary @BarbieItungoK

My hope and prayer is that our leaders will look beyond the temporary comfort and work for a country where every citizen will have an opportunity to live in peace and with dignity. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersUganda #WeAreRemovingADictator

I charged MPs and all leaders to remain committed to removing the dictatorship. Every dictator strives to get a few opposition leaders and ensure they are comfortable. While he steals trillions, he ocassionally throws at them crumbs in the hope that they will be diverted.

Today, our Parliament team under the leadership of Hon. @MathiasMpuuga launched our Legislative Agenda at Parliament. This is unprecedented. Regime apologists often accuse us of not having alternative policy proposals. This agenda is one of the many proposals we have laid down

Even sending 100k to the very first recipient of 'COVID relief' proved too difficult. "Ministers" in their numbers gathered in full view of the media to make a phonecall to a fake recipient. What a joke! The entire system is dead- right from the top. #WeAreRemovingADictator

To our sister and brothers in Zambia, THANK YOU for showing the way. It is our duty as a generation to ensure that peaceful transitions become normal on this our continent. God bless Zambia. God bless Uganda. God bless Africa

Last night, I communicated to President Hakainde's Inauguration Committee and expressed deep regrets for not attending this momentous event, after all efforts to travel to Zambia were frustrated. I'll issue a detailed statement on this. I remain very grateful for the invitation.

I congratulate and thank President Lungu for affording his nation a peaceful transition. It takes decency and character for a leader to graciously accept an election defeat and bow to the will of the people. You have set an example which should be emulated by other leaders.

Today the people of Zambia are witnessing a day that has eluded most African countries. President @HHichilema takes over from President @EdgarCLung in a peaceful transition. I thank their excellencies for making this possible.

With consternation, I've learnt of the indefinite closure of 54 Civil Society Organisations by the regime over what they claim to be "non-compliance issues". This follows raids & bank account closures all targeting pro-democracy CSOs. Full statement: facebook.com/10004427440769…

My attention has been drawn to this fake tweet, purportedly from my account. Please disregard it and treat it with the contempt it deserves. The regime has intensified its propaganda based on lies. We shall intensify our struggle for freedom based on the truth of our cause.

Damulira John (aged 50) was abducted from his shop by heavily armed military personnel on 21st Nov, 2020. Six people he was taken with were dumped in the bush after extreme torture. To date, Damulira's whereabouts are unknown! The regime ignored the court order for his release.

Last night a fire outbreak destroyed homes and properties of over 200 residents of Kamwokya, and left several people dead or injured. This morning I passed on a message of support to area leaders. @NUP_Ug has delivered relief to victims. We encourage other leaders to follow suit

This Eid al-Adha, my thoughts go to our Muslim brothers and sisters who continue to be persecuted, tortured and jailed unjustly. May Allah (SWT) keep you strong until you overcome these tribulations. As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu -llāhi wa-barakātuh. Eid Mubarak!

Arrested two weeks back. Accused of attacking Gen. Katumba. Five of them killed during 'arrest and investigations.' This is how the rest appeared in court today- severely tortured! They told court their tormentors sought to extract a confession! #StopSponsoringOurOppression
