"The high commissioner criticized the application of China’s National Security Law in Hong Kong. She noted this was having a chilling impact on the territory’s civic and democratic space. " @mbachelet voanews.com/europe/bachele…

This is a landmark case. The most vocal Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily is forced to close, and its owner and directors face Nationa Security Law charges. Press freedom is gone. Hong Kong’s Apple Daily could shut at weekend unless accounts are unblocked theguardian.com/world/2021/jun…

Today, 500 political police raided Apple Daily, the most critical newspaper in Hong Kong. The editor-in-chief is arrested for “collusion with foreign forces.” Independent journalism in HK is a crime and threatens China's "national security." How fragile is the country? #HongKong

The voices of HKers are everywhere. We need to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for its human rights violations. We need to preserve our culture, identity, and universal values as they are the most powerful weapons against tyrannies. #StandWithHongKong

Looking forward to seeing you all tonight! It's important for us to preserve the protest-related artworks that are no longer able to be screened in Hong Kong. Honoured to share the platform with @aiww , @SKinnock , @finnlau_cd and many others. #StandWithHongKong twitter.com/CinemaForPeace…

On this day two years ago, in 2019, more than a million people rallied on the streets of Hong Kong. Many have been prosecuted, injured, jailed, and exiled. Even though democracy has not prevailed, we believe that eventually it would, as long as we never give up. #StandwithHK

We must realize how fragile our freedoms and democracies are, and protect them actively. We are not only the beneficiaries of democracy, but also the guardians of it. #StandWithHongKong @GenevaSummit

“For Hong Kong now the “one country, two systems” basically turned into “one country, one system,” and Hong Kong is becoming another ordinary Chinese city.” “We’ve got all the understanding of how China is invading the society” @GenevaSummit genevasummit.org/nathan-law-spe…

My friend, who has lived in London for decades, told me that this year's June 4 vigil is the largest one. Hundreds of people gathered and lit a candle. I said, the number will only grow. Hongkongers will persist, until the day CCP is held accountable. #London #8964

We are Hongkongers, and we fight for democracy and freedom. We never surrender. We are never defeated. Even though we are far from home, we believe that our endeavor will eventually pave our way home. The dictators will be held accountable. #8964 #London #TiananmenSquareMassacre

@Wix said they removed the website by mistakes. I genuinely hope that they learnt sth from this incident. The website was down since 31 May, took them 3 days (and three hours after I tweeted) to reinstate it. This is what they told me when I first asked them.

Latest Update: After days of closure, the website (2021hkcharter.com) is resotred, yet no explanation from @Wix. Hope the service providers understand that they should not comply with CCP to limit free speech. I am still waiting for an explanation.

Hong Kong Police requested the Israeli company @Wix to disable our website, otherwise prosecuting the company. Wix complied. It shows that our freedom of speech is not protected even we are not in Hong Kong and China. Here is our statement.

G7 should work together and hold China accountable. It's nothing to do with racism -- it's to protect individuals in Xinjiang and Hong Kong. Stop using "anti-racism" as protection to dictators. Genocide deniers are not our allies. #StandwithHongKong twitter.com/SecBlinken/sta…

mobile.twitter.com/nathanlawkc/st… This is what happened with my talk at UChicacgo. The letter the CSSA of UChicago sent to the school demonstrates their intention to disallow views in support of HK protests to be expressed. Similar incidents have been repeated so many times. We should act.

HK activists' free speech are threatened by pro-CCP nationalists, such as CSSAs, which are CCP's extended arms. The hosts of my talks at NUY, JHU, and UPenn received similar disinviting letters and protests. CSSAs should register as foreign agents as they are part of CCP's organs
