In Super Mario Galaxy, the bubble generators in Bubble Breeze Galaxy have unused settings to create cubic and octahedral bubbles. As the galaxy's internal name is "CubeBubbleEx", the cube was likely the original intended shape before being replaced with traditional round bubbles.

The data for Pikmin on the GameCube includes an unused model of a Goomba head, called "kuribo.mod" (the Japanese name for "Goomba") internally. While the model appears normal from the front (left), turning it around reveals that it has a second face on its back (right).

In Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, Donkey Kong emerges from a beehive during one of the boss battles. Due to an error in how the 3D models' colors were sampled into 2D sprites, Donkey Kong's eyes and teeth become completely black every time he retreats into the hive.

While Bowser usually has a simple set of two spikes on his tail, Giga Bowser from the Super Smash Bros. series replaces it with an arrangement of four spikes called a "thagomizer".
