In the Spanish localization of Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the Book of Sealing, an item used for the containment of spirits, is called "Espectronomicón". This is a reference to the Necronomicon, a grimoire of dark magic featured in the works of horror writer H. P. Lovecraft.

In the WarioWare Gold version of the microgame "Burying the Hatchet", Mario's right sleeve is correctly colored red, while his left sleeve is colored blue for an unknown reason. Note that this is a remake of a microgame from WarioWare: Twisted, where both sleeves were red.

Naval Piranha's profile in Tetris Attack mentions Yoshi's mother. If Yoshi's mother is intended to be a female Yoshi, this would be the only instance of a female Yoshi being referenced in a Nintendo game, as every single other Yoshi whose gender has been identified has been male.
