Please note that these manga are filled with jokes and eccentric theories such as this: twitter.com/MarioBrothBlog…, so this should be taken more as an interesting thought experiment than anything that would actually be endorsed by Nintendo!

The Nintendo E3 2007 press kit contained a document with instructions for the press on how to properly display a single piece of Super Mario Galaxy artwork. Below is the entirety of the document.

I apologize for deleting this post earlier. An extremely minor mathematical error was discovered; please accept this corrected version. The probability is 0.0000000000000000000000000007% instead of 0.0000000000000000000000000005% as originally claimed.

In Super Mario Maker 2, a unique effect can be observed by stacking a Zappa Mechakoopa onto a giant Iggy (left). The Zappa Mechakoopa will blend into Iggy's sprite due to their similar colors (middle) and Iggy will appear to shoot lasers from his eyes (right).

Super Mario Odyssey suggests that the Ground Pound symbol originates with the lost ancient civilization of the Lost Kingdom. As the symbol is most prominent in the Super Mario Galaxy games, this implies they moved to space. Speculation over which species it could be is included.

A 2015 commercial for McDonald's featured a variety of scenes of archenemies from popular culture getting along with each other. One of the scenes depicted Mario presenting Bowser with a Piranha Plant, which spits out fire in the shape of a heart.

Regarding my recent Tweet about the word "walnuts" in the DK Rap in Donkey Kong 64: the game's composer, Grant Kirkhope (@grantkirkhope) has stated that the word was chosen for the rhyme with "peanuts" and did not represent any in-game objects.

In Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, if Mario takes damage from a Fury Shadow on the same frame as defeating it, then during the Cat Shine animation, he will cycle between his powered-up form, his powered-down form, and a form that is just a floating face and hands.
542
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, one of Piranha Plant's taunts ends in it displaying a grin (top left). This expression is achieved using a perspective trick; by moving the camera we can see that the teeth on the side of the model not facing the screen are enlarged for the effect.

When Mario falls off the Wing Mario Over the Rainbow secret course in Super Mario 64, he will fall into the castle moat. However, his health is not reset during this. If Mario falls after hitting a ledge and reaching 0 health, he will instantly drown upon touching the water.

By unloading the barrel model in Donkey Kong Country Returns, we can see that in order to fit Donkey Kong's and Diddy Kong's models inside the limited space of the barrel, their bodies are made as compact as possible by having DK hold onto Diddy while in a fetal position.

Version 1.0 of Super Mario Odyssey (available by playing a physical copy from the first print run without updates) contains a glitch that removes Mario permanently. If Cappy performs a Ground Pound on a captured Piranha Plant in 2-player mode, Mario will be gone and never return.

The Game Boy version of Dr. Mario becomes unplayable upon reaching Level 28, as Dr. Mario himself simply fails to appear on screen, causing the round to never start.

Rosalina's design contains an oddity in Mario Golf: Super Rush. Despite using a wand to magically levitate her club, she is wearing a golf glove. During gameplay, she never touches the club (or any other item) with her gloved hand, making the glove completely superfluous.
548
In Super Mario Galaxy, if Mario performs a Ground Pound at the boundary of sand and water, he will close his eyes and keep them closed until the next time he jumps, spins or comes to a stop. As long as he moves without stopping, Mario can keep his eyes closed indefinitely.
