Wife has been reading the One Piece manga at a fast pace to keep up with the "read for free" deal happening in Japan right now. The last few days she`s blown past the Drum Island, Alabasta, and Skypiea arcs. Here are her thoughts...

The "Year of the One Piece anime" (as I have dubbed it) continues with some excellent animation and direction in episode 1054 for the Killer vs Hawkins fight.
Not many big fights remain now.
....expect insanity from what's left. 🤯

Wife finished reading through the Enies Lobby arc in the One Piece Manga. She says Robin`s flashback was probably the best flashback (I agree btw) & for the first time the "bigger story" is coming into view. Merry scene was of course sad & Franky is great. Garp`s also very cool.

Wife finished reading through the Oden flashback in One Piece. Her thoughts:
Wano is probably the most exciting, well written arc in the series. It doesn't feel like a normal Shonen manga. Oden is so interesting he feels like the main character. "Can't wait to see what's next"

Did some animation for One Piece episode 997. Nothing huge this time, but it`s always fun drawing Kaido in his dragon form. 😁🐉

I animated Kaido`s big attack in One Piece 1003. I`m pretty sure this was totally uncorrected so what I drew is what you got.😁Congrats to episode director Michibata-san for use of color & an overall great episode.

If your attitude is "I hope this character gets high quality content & this other character gets bad content" you are not a fan of anything, you are a deeply pathetic child.
You should want greatness all around while understanding & accepting spikes & dips in quality are natural.

With One Piece episode 1057, the final acts of Sanji & Zoro`s fights are now underway.
We`re in the endgame now folks.
It also occurs to me that the countdown to the episode I`ve been working on is (and has been) in the single digits. 😱😱😱

I drew Key animation for One Piece ep 937. Actually, our studio @dartshtajio drew quite a lot. Over a 6th of the episode was us. I hope you at least enjoyed the shock-wave through Madilloman`s face. That was my idea.😉

Back in July I joined the in-house One Piece anime team at Toei Animation. With next week`s episode 995, scene`s I`ve been working on will start airing. The moment of truth! Hope everyone enjoys it. 😁

Wife finished reading through Sanji`s story arc in the One Piece Manga.
Her thoughts: Sanji & Zeff`s flashback made her cry for the 1st time in the series. Sanji is her favorite character at this point. "A cool guy who can cook!" Luffy`s also growing on her more w/ each arc.

One Piece Film RED, in its final days, surpassed Howl’s Moving Castle as the 8th highest grossing film EVER in Japan.
Congrats to the staff and all the One Piece fans around the world.
I guess Howl’s Castle can MOVE it’s ass down to 9th place. 😂
