3/ After consulting with lawyers, @chowtingagnes, @ivanlamviiv and I will plead guilty, which implies that Mon’s hearing will skip trials and go straight into sentencing. Compare to with 2k HKers are prosecuted and 12 HKers detained in China, the charges that I face are minimal.
2178
2/ Never have I underestimated the chance of imprisonment at the upcoming hearing on Mon, especially at the time when lawmakers were expelled, journalists were sued for mentioning police brutality, and universities were probed in the pretext of national security claims.
2179
4/ Under the continuing onslaughts against the city’s dissents, generations of youths go from protests to prisons. To safeguard liberty for the place that we are born, all of them have made silent but regretless sacrifice.
2180
5/ Some of them were tortured, forced into exile, or even took their own lives after chanting protest slogans. That's the reason why, ever since my 1st release from prison, I have vowed to draw more public attention to prison justice, in particular those on political prisoners.
2181
6/ Ever since the outbreak of the movement last year, when the smell of tear gas has become our collective memory, I always remember what one of Hong Kong activists, @BrianLeungKP , said, “More than language and values we share, what connects all the Hongkongers is the pain.”
2182
7/ Hence, despite possible jail sentences ahead, it is my honour to stand with each of you from the very beginning, fight shoulder to shoulder, and bring our voices to the world. Nevertheless, whatever storm we might face, I always have my faith in my fellow Hongkongers.
2183
9/ “We rejoice in our sufferings,” Romans 5:3-4 reads, “knowing that suffering produces endurance. and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” Once sown, seeds will one day sprout. Weary and distraught as some of you might feel, please have each others’ backs.
2184
8/ Five years ago, after the Umbrella Movement, we all once believed mass movements were no longer possible. Nevertheless, it was the courage and resolution of each Hongkonger that have brought us through darkest valley and made the impossible possible.

P.S. Even in prison, I will continue sharing my thoughts on Patreon. I welcome everyone to write me letters via P. O. Box 73962, Kowloon Central Post Office, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. patreon.com/joshuawong

3. I wish to pay tributes to our fellow activists who are about to face trials and prison, or to whom in distress for not being able to return home: We're not fearless, but you are the braver ones.

[MSG IN CUSTODY]
1. Comparing to remanded, #save12hkyouths in China deserves more of our attention. Today marks the 93rd day of their detention. Their families finally received letters from the dozen, signifying that they are still alive. #SAVE12 campaign managed pressure China.
2189
2. But from the content of the letters, they might have been tortured until they agreed to make forced confessions, saying they had appointed lawyers assigned by the authorities, saying they regretted taking part in activism.
2190
4. What we are doing now is to explain the value of freedom to the world, through our compassion to whom we love, so much that we are willing to sacrifice the freedom of our own. I'm still learning to conquer the fear and I believe you are with me along this journey.

[First day of #JoshuaWong’s remand]
1. Joshua is now separately remanded in a single cell, being barred from leaving the cell nor meeting other inmates. As the cell light is left on 24 hours, he is struggling to fall asleep.
2192
2. But what concerns him most is the situation of other #HKprotestors, from the recent arrest of #GrandmaWong to the 30yo protestor, who was charged for violating #nationalsecuritylaw after singing protest song #GloryToHongKong. Joshua also calls for attention to #save12hkyouths.
2193
4. In the meantime, he welcomes all of you to write letters to him, @chowtingagnes and #IvanLam via P. O. Box 73962, Kowloon Central Post Office, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, #Hongkong (No need to put your name on the envelope).
2194
3. Hardship is temporary. With #Hongkongers’ unwavering spirit of resistance, Joshua is determined that #Hkers will not surrender our fight for justice and hope.

Thank @NetiwitC and our brave friends in #Thailand for standing with #Hongkong and #JoshuaWong.
Meanwhile, #Thais are fighting a tough battle for democracy and justice as well. #Hongkongers will continue #StandwithThailand in our common cause. twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/s…

Today #Thaiprotesters rallied to demand the king to give up control of the royal future. Ridiculously #thaigov just built a “Bangkok Wall” with containers to block ralliers.
But the will of the people cannot be blocked.
