4. Clearly legal, education & social service sectors become new targets under #nationalsecuritylaw. #Beijing seeks to put the city's professionals under control & make them serve only its political interests. Political red lines become the new doctrine over professional standards
378
3. Twenty-four hours after Beijing’s directive of “new struggles” was leaked, CCP mouthpieces blasted the city's chief justice, #GeoffreyMa, for just reiterating the principle of judicial impartiality and refusing judicial reforms in the city.
379
2. For legal struggle, CCP reportedly calls for “more influence in judge nomination” & “requiring judges attending pro-China courses”. Edu struggle means sacking pro-democracy teachers & cancelling liberal studies, while struggle in social service demands NGOs supporting gov.

“The arrest of one of Hong Kong's most prominent opposition figures for wearing a face mask – at a time when wearing one is compulsory in the city – is yet another example of the government’s campaign to silence dissent by any means.” vice.com/en_us/article/…

2. "Also alarming is the fate of a dozen young protesters who ... attempted to flee HK by speedboat to #Taiwan.
Is #China preparing to prosecute these 12 young people on more serious charges, and without any of the legal rights that HK’s system once afforded?"

3. Worse still, he may face graver charges if #police crack his clients' phones w/ phone hacking tools like #Cellebrite & find any suspicious conversations. He hopes his bail can be granted & #12hkyouths can come back safe.
After all, #Hongkongers hope he can be released soon.

2. Utterly unacceptable that he has been detained for weeks, although those phones don't even belong to him. His bid for bail was repeatedly denied. Before his arrest, he was reportedly harassed by cops after refusing service to #HKpolice to show support against #policebrutality.

[Phone repair specialist arrested for possessing client's phone]
1. Upon release, I'd like to take opportunity to call attention to other unreasonable arrests. A phone repair shop owner was arrested in Sep for possessing clients' phones #NationalSecurityBureau claim suspicious.

Today’s arrest is a notorious abuse to the criminal justice system by placing charges ruled unconstitutional earlier. However, I choose not to surrender.

Facing max. The penalty of 5yrs in jail for unauthorized assembly and 1yr for wearing a mask, I'm not deterred whenever I think of fellow protestors who are struggling in detention in HK or in Mainland China.

Nothing to celebrate on bizarrely prompt release. Case will be mentioned Eastern Magistrates Court on 30 Sep 2:30pm, the day before China’s decision to approve the arrest of #12youths activists and its national day.

3/ Even they violate the constitution of Hong Kong. It should be discussed in the court via judicial review procedure. And not being narrowly handled within the election petition procedure.

2/ Unfortunately the judge of high court claim that it could not be discussed or go through the process of judicial review. However, the civil servant, just act as the Beijing loyalist, just follow command of Beijing.
