Whether we win or lose tonight, I will eat this chocolate BAFTA at 3 A.M.

You don't need me to tell you to see #TheBatman. (You probably have your tix booked already!). But I will say as an aficionado of gnarly car chases, there's a humdinger of a rain soaked freeway chase with the Batmobile. Holy mackerel! You will enjoy x

If you’re in need of a distraction, how about this Q&A I recorded last week with El maestro @RealGDT all about #lastnightinsoho? Honestly I could talk moviemaking with the great man all day, but for now here’s 46 information & trivia packed minutes. Enjoy! lastnightinsohoinconversation.co.uk/#video

Of all the recent 80's reboots, I think the gnawing dread of nuclear war is perhaps my least favourite.

This shot, among many more, broke my brain when I saw West Side Story. Truly brilliant staging. twitter.com/ShaneM_Anderso…

It’s THAT special day in Australia and the amazing Cinema Nova in Melbourne are doing a Hot Fuzz screening tonight to honour the birthday of a certain unnamed ginger teen drinking illegally in pub. Head down to Cinema Nova for a special 22/2/22 screening! cinemanova.com.au/films/hot-fuzz

RIP Jan Pieńkowski; A brilliant writer and illustrator. His HAUNTED HOUSE pop up book in particular was a big part of my youth and fed my imagination.

A photo by Jason Bryant of the fallen spire from St Thomas’s Church in Wells, Somerset. The actual church in the film is the nearby St Cuthbert's Church, but still a little too close to the film for comfort. Adam Buxton was safe and well in Norfolk btw.

I would like to point out that the spire in ‘Hot Fuzz’ was St Cuthbert’s Church in Wells Somerset and not the nearby St Thomas’s Church. That’s not to say it was all Storm Eunice and not the work of the NWA however… twitter.com/djstay81/statu…

It's a Happy 15th Anniversary to 'Hot Fuzz', a movie that let me run riot in my Somerset hometown. I'm so happy and proud people watch and quote it to this day. Plus, Happy Valentine & Happy Birthday @simonpegg while we are at it. Enjoy this clip of @mikerelm's amazing HF mix x

Had a blast working with the delightful @Zendaya on an alliterative adventure advertising @squarespace for Super Bowl Sunday. Hope to work with both her & the ‘bonus musical legend at the end of the spot’ again. Enjoy and look out for it Sunday in between your wings & dips x

RIP to an actual visionary, Doug Trumbull, SFX genius behind the effects in 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Star Trek: The Motion Picture & Blade Runner. Also he directed a childhood favourite of mine, the sci fi gem Silent Running. Watch it tonight.

My resolution for 2022 is to spend less time on social media. Don't get me wrong, I love connecting with everyone here & your support of my films last year means the world to me. Just need to unplug, read more books or look at some flowers and shit. See you soon. Love you all x

Happy 2022 to all who celebrate x

DON'T LOOK NOW if you haven't seen #LastNightInSoho yet, but as an end of 2021 treat & taster of making of content to come, let me highlight the amazing VFX work by Tom Proctor & the wizards at @dneg. As you can see, it's a devious mix of in-camera magic & digital sorcery. Enjoy.

Tried to watch a film for every day of the year and came up short by 35. But, I was doing press pretty much non-stop for two of my own, so forgive me. Anyway, here's 330 films I did see in 2021. (NB: *Denotes first time watch / Bold & Underlined denotes seen at cinema) 1/2

The best ABBA song is SOS. I will not be taking questions at this time.
