This morning had a breakfast meeting with parents, siblings and spouses of comrades who are under illegal detention. Despite the challenges posed by the absence of their loved ones, I was delighted to note they understand the problem which our country faces.

These NUP women leaders gave us a lesson in courage. They took to the streets in a peaceful protest against the continued illegal detention of our people and the unmitigated abductions of citizens.

We concluded a two-day leaders' retreat in Jinja, where our leaders recommitted themselves to the struggle for freedom in Uganda, and pledged to serve our people diligently. We also took an integrity oath, to shun and fight corruption in word and action.

After several attempts at my life, some friends got me a bullet proof car. At first, all was good because it wasn't in my name. Interpol, Police Forensics and URA all examined it and cleared it. URA levied a tax which we paid. Hell broke loose when they discovered it was my car.

At first they claimed all armoured vehicles must be cleared by the Ministry of Defence but there was no law to support their ridiculous claim. They moved and sacked, demoted or persecuted staff who did their job & cleared the vehicle, accusing them of not revealing it was my car!

That's when they claimed it was undervalued and demanded I return it. Today they wrote asking me to pay this incredibly high sum of money. Like I've said before, when you fight against Museveni, all state institutions gang up against you, because they've been personalised.

It will be recalled that my two other vehicles were impounded in Arua in 2018 and never returned. Despots of all shades and colours have done all these things before. But they never win in the end. Examples are all over. We shall overcome.

Free #GuyMiltonSmith from illegal detention. An American national, Guy was picked up by a 'drone' on 21st March in Fort Portal, Western Uganda & held incommunicado. To date, he's not been produced in court. Police say they're holding him for subversive anti-government activities!
