A health worker, a midwife, a biological mother of 10 and a moral mother to hundreds. A hustler & a revolutionary, that was my mother, Margaret Nalunkuuma aka Musawo. We celebrate you Maama & we'll try you make you proud. Happy mother's day to you and to all mothers in the world

The People Power Movement is issuing this statement on the $491.5M loan extended by the IMF to Uganda. Previously, large sums of borrowed money have been misused or lost through corruption & voter bribery. Accountability & Governance issues require more attention by our partners.

For every murder by LDU captured on CCTV, hundreds go unreported. For one torture case that gets coverage, thousands never go out. For every corruption scandal that gets out, tens of thousands are taking place. Let's focus more on the disease (bad governance), less on the symptoms

In 2018 when a Minister said I had guns, I was in military custody & didn't see his shameless face. Today, I watched in disbelief as a Minister told Parliament Hon. Zaake tortured himself & caused his own wounds by knocking himself on metals & pricking himself with sharp objects!

As Hon. @ZaakeFrancis lies in hospital after grave torture, plus so many other violations, I've been joined by comrade leaders @kizzabesigye1, @norbertmao, @BasalirwaAsuman & @peterwalubiri to write to UN Secretary General @antonioguterres. Using all avenues to end this madness

On this International Press Freedom Day, I want to salute those Ugandan journalists who continue to do their work professionally in a very hostile environment. Our struggle is about restoring the respect for dignity and human rights, including journalists' rights. Picture- HRNJ

Update: MP Zaake is still unable to see normally. The ophthalmologist says he's suffering from photophobia (sensitivity to light). He's on treatment & has to wear medical glasses to reduce on the light. Still suffers from acute migraines & back pain. Otherwise steadily recovering

On this International Workers' Day, I thank all workers who make incredible sacrifices to build our nation. In a special way, I salute the frontline health workers and other medical professionals who each day lay their lives on the line for us amidst very difficult conditions.

Some other ghetto kids doing a cover for our song, #CoronavirusAlert. Brought back memories of how we started. Little #NubianLi is definitely taking this seriously.

Finally, after ten days of trying in vain to see my brother Hon. Zaake, I've seen him at Rubaga Hospital where he was rushed on release. He's still in too much pain, but at least out of their hands. The Museveni regime will never have the last laugh. The People of Uganda will!

Hon. @ZaakeFrancis health condition has worsened. He has now been placed on oxygen at Kiruddu hospital where he is admitted & still under police detention. The doctors are contemplating taking him into the ICU. A Member of Parliament is tortured to near death by regime enforcers!

"Hon. Zaake was visibly frail. His face was thoroughly bruised. His shirt was torn to threads. His joints were swollen. Bits of flesh hang off his chest as though someone had attempted to randomly pluck them out with a fork. He couldn't see. He couldn't stand." - Hon. Paul Mwiru

With deep shock & profound grief, I learnt of the untimely passing of our sister Barbara Allimadi. She has been a freedom fighter! A true comrade in the struggle for freedom & democracy. My deepest condolences to her family, esp my brother @allimadi & ANT family, @mugishamuntu.

Despite securing a court order for Hon. Zaake's unconditional release, police arraigned him before another court in Mityana. Seeing his horrible state, the Magistrate declined to take his plea & ordered he gets treatment. They now took him back to SIU Kireka from he was tortured

MP Francis Zaake! Brutally arrested over a week ago. Severely brutalised & kept under illegal detention! Here's the medical referral- still unable to see after chemicals were sprayed in his eyes! Not even violations to this level will silence our demand for FREEDOM!

I congratulate Rt. Rev. Lambert Bainomugisha on his appointment as Archbishop of Mbarara, by the Holy Father, Pope Francis. I also pay tribute to the retiring Archbishop, the Most Rev. Paul K. Bakyenga for shepherding God's people with love and devotion over the years.

Old Chief Kakande Was born on Monday Went to school on Tuesday Went to work on Wednesday Married on Thursday Got ill on Friday Died on Saturday Was buried on Sunday That was the end of Old Chief Kakande! So is the cycle of overzealous regime enforcers eg. Sakwa. So predictable!

On our mission to airlift some African sisters & brothers in China, 16 eminent leaders have written this appeal to the @_AfricanUnion & Members. Still looking out for a country willing to host till 29th April. After, we'll suspend mission & assist them with needs even while there

The Holy month of Ramadhan is upon us. May the Mercy of Allah (SWT) envelope us. May He ease all our difficulties. May He grant us Iman, peace, forgiveness and barakah! May He bring healing to a hurting world. To all Muslim friends around the world, Ramadhan Kareem!

When comrade MP Zaake was arrested on Sunday, he was energetic & healthy. He's now admitted in hospital, surrounded by police, after gruesome torture by security operatives! When I went to see him, they denied me access & instead deployed dozens more! We are fighting for freedom

While millions of Ugandans starved & countless lost jobs, the Parliament of Uganda allocated itself 10bn shs ($2.7m) & gave each Member 20m! Not even a court order or public outcry could stop them. Wrong & immoral! I've returned this money & will not partake in a fraud so vile
