In one story, a student is tortured to death by police! One of the thousands of victims. In another, minister for security Jim Muhwezi promises to reward (mostly) NRM MPs who refused to sign to censure him for refusing or failing to stop torture! #EndTortureInUganda

Ddamulira had 10 children and two wives at the time of his abduction. He was their sole bread winner! The family and our legal teams have moved all prisons looking for him. A court order for his release was issued and ignored. The regime wants to lecture us about Patriotism!

The Chairperson, Uganda Human Rights Commission now says she fears to convene meetings of the Commission because her juniors attend them with guns! Perhaps this explains the ridiculous statements she has been making of recent about victims of human rights violations. Perhaps it… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Thank you for coming through & supporting the cause. The call to liberate Uganda is a call to all Ugandans. We must take up the mantle as Ugandans to liberate Uganda. Bravo #UOT Family. Kasukaali Keeko? #UotMeetsBobiwine twitter.com/gad_rogers/sta…

He commanded the militarily raid on my campaign team in Kalangala Island on 30th December 2020, an ambush which saw over 100 of our comrades arrested and tortured. Most of them are still languishing in Kitarya prison. Yesterday, her personally beat up NTV journalist Cliff Wamala

Don't tell us about Pan-Africanism after mortgaging our country to foreign interests. Uganda had many state-owned parastatals which you sold off, mostly to foreigners. According to this @DailyMonitor analysis, this contributed greatly to the dysfunction! monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/in…

Security agencies continue to hunt down pro-change social media users in Uganda. They're tortured & charged with offensive communication! On the other hand, the regime maintains thousands of fake accounts to sing its praise on social media like they did ahead of the 2021 polls!

It's exactly one year after Arua. That day, many of us nearly lost lives. My driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot dead. Grateful to the world for standing with us! As we remember that day, may we all recommit ourselves to the struggle for human rights, justice & freedom. #PeoplePower

Thank you @DailyMonitor for this article which generally captures my thoughts. We shall soon launch our citizen-led agenda for a new Uganda. The headline on death penalty though is misleading (misquoted). I have always been opposed to mandatory death penalty for obvious reasons.

Yesterday, we filed a suit in the Chief Magistrates Court in Mbale, against the state and individual officers who blocked us from speaking on radio & used excessive force against the people. We shall continue to use all legal avenues to pursue the rights of all Ugandans.

"There is a reason you separate the military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people." William Adama. #MilitaryState #FreedomInSight twitter.com/DailyMonitor/s…

Very interesting to see that since 1991, this country has had five governments, each of them elected democratically on a peaceful basis. Great to see that the country which was almost entirely destroyed by war has since made great progress in terms of economic development.

Increased demand and utilisation of electricity will in turn create many job opportunities, but also increase government revenue. If this revenue isn't lost through corruption, it can turn things around.

“I have seen people tortured from night to morning. .....Museveni has made past bad leaders look very good. So good that, if you ask me, ‘Would you rather live under Amin’s regime?’ — I would. My father survived it.”

Was very honoured to once again spend time with Rtd Supreme Court Justice, G.W. Kanyeihamba and his family. Thankful that his health has improved. He's very concerned about the further shrinking of the democratic space & hopes that our generation will return sanity to our nation.

Thank you #PeoplePower_Ghana for rising up and raising your voices against the continued illegal persecution of Dr. Stella Nyanzi, a political prisoner who has been in detention since 2nd November, 2018.

"Hon. Zaake was visibly frail. His face was thoroughly bruised. His shirt was torn to threads. His joints were swollen. Bits of flesh hang off his chest as though someone had attempted to randomly pluck them out with a fork. He couldn't see. He couldn't stand." - Hon. Paul Mwiru

Friends, The situation at One Love Beach is tense. It has been turned into a war zone. As if the raid last night was not enough, this morning they blocked the roads leading to the Beach and announced that our Boxing Day show is off. [THREAD]

Mind you, this lady is the Chairperson of the UGANDA HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION. She's the same person who recently accused torture victims of exaggerating the extent of their injuries. Now she's back at it again. My Good Lord!

We appreciate all of you comrades who have generously extended a helping towards this cause. We encourage you to keep the support coming because more citizens are still stuck in UAE jails for lacking air-tickets back home. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #BringBackOurPeople

We spent today in parts of Acholi sub-region, connecting with the great people from that part of Uganda. The people of Apaa are still hurting because Government decided to rob them of their greatest possession - land.
