This would be hilarious if it wasn't very sad! Students were invited for a meeting to discuss "education issues". As soon as they assembled, a music band was brought and each student handed a protest note against the EU. They were told to march. A police van cleared the way!

After 10 months under illegal detention, comrade Sserunkuuma Johnbosco, is out on bail. He was abducted & severely tortured last year. He was elected councillor in absentia. In all, his conviction has remained firm and steadfast. Aluta continua! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

Yes, this is how I was violently forced out of my car by the police as I addressed an international press conference. They have made everything around me illegal, including stopping by the road to make a call.....well, because they FEAR PEOPLE! twitter.com/Smith_JeffreyT…

I've responded to the unfortunate letter by the Chairman, Electoral Commission inviting for a meeting. A team is representing me, but every Ugandan must be amazed at the double standards at play! The EC must avoid being perceived by citizens as Gen. Museveni's walking stick!

Countrywomen and men, Today was yet another testament that the military dictatorship is on borrowed time, and definitely on its way out. They are simply very scared of the people.

Learnt with sorrow, the passing of Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, a distinguished economist who served Uganda in different capacities before rising to position of Governor @BOU_Official. On my behalf and on behalf of @NUP_Ug, I send condolences to his family and loved ones.

The excitement that comes with Uganda winning as one is unmatched! Thanks Jacob Kiplimo for making us more proud at the 2020 Ostrava Golden Spike meet, finishing in record time of 12:48:63. Congratulations Jacob. Congratulations Uganda.

I thank all leaders and comrades who turned up in thousands to bid farewell to our dear brother and elected councillor, Yakubu Kiggundu. This solidarity gives me hope for a better future.

Today, comrade Masereka Samuel addressed the press alongside leaders of @NUP_Ug. He showed to the nation the extent of torture subjected to him at the CMI facility in Mbuya. The regime may amuse itself for hurting us in this way, but these are signs that they are on the way out.

Led a team of @NUP_Ug leaders to sign the condolence book for the Rt. Hon. Jacob L'Okori Oulanyah at Parliament. We continue to mourn this fallen son of Uganda, and join his family in demanding for an independent investigation into his untimely death. May his soul rest in peace.

Together with my friend Neil Nelson, CEO @ATLBlackStar, we are offering to airlift Africans & African-Americans being subjected to inhumane treatment in parts of China. Only if we get an African nation and/or the US willing to receive them! #soos #savingourownsouls

As #Covid19 wrecks havoc around the world, I just took the #WashYourHands challenge to encourage us to heed the advice of medical experts. Wash hands regularly; practice social distancing; seek medical attention as soon as you have symptoms. Let's win the war against this virus

Thank you Luuka. You have made a statement. #WeAreRemovingADictator

Very saddened by the passing of Hon. Med Kaggwa, Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission. During the Arua ordeal, Med visited me in military detention & told the world what was going on. He did his best, under very difficult circumstances to promote rights. Rest well

Yesterday, I had the honor of having dinner with @geordinhl the Mayor of Cape Town, @DavidMaynier the Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities; Western Cape government and other dignitaries. We discussed various issues of mutual interest.

When we were gruesomely tortured in 2018, @UHRC_UGANDA received & sat on our complaints about the same. To date, you're still 'processing' them. When regime thugs abducted Jakana, you coiled your tail and feigned ignorance of his plight. Now you're here mouthing 'human rights'. twitter.com/UHRC_UGANDA/st…

On this 58th independence anniversary, may we all re-commit ourselves to those values which make a nation great- justice, love, unity! I salute those who have made immense sacrifices to build. There is more work to do and together we shall make Uganda truly independent and free!

Paid a courtesy call on Hajj Hussein Kyanjo to check on his health. Very pleased to find him in good health. Also had the honour of meeting with Imam Kasozi, another eminent leader. Their advice- "Always put principles ahead of interests and you will live a dignified life."

He was abducted two weeks ago. To date, it's uncertain where he is being detained at, let alone whether he's alive or not. WHERE IS KAVUMA JAMUSHID? #BringBackOurPeople #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

Meanwhile, as they do these incredible violations on us, the paranoid 35 year old regime continues to deport foreign journalists, diplomats, NGO staff, etc. The motive is clear- they want to commit atrocities without anyone watching! cbc.ca/amp/1.5821367?…

Pleased to spend some time with the newly elected Guild President of Kyambogo University, Comrade Wafula Edrine Koholo and his team. We had an interesting conversation about the historical mission of this generation.

This week, the young people of Uganda yet again confirmed that they stand with NUP, they stand with Uganda. Congratulations to these comrades who won elections in their respective institutions- Makerere University, Muteesa Royal University and Kyambogo University, Bushenyi.
