Most of my research in SWSH was because I wanted a shiny Antique Sinistea in Glimwood Tangle. Turns out there isn't a way to boost it past 1%, and the best shiny rate is 1/1365.67 with Shiny Charm.
Finally, after 438,031 automated encounters over 2 years, this chapter is closed.

There's been some interest in my recent research over the last 2-3 months into Brilliant Pokémon and chain fishing in Sword/Shield, so I'll share my findings in greater detail here.
It's long and math/data heavy, so skip to the end of the thread if you only want the summary.

Wondering how you "saw" a Titan species shiny in the Dex? It's similar to how Arven's Pokémon can randomly be shiny.
After the first stage of a Titan battle, the game has a 1/4096 chance to generate a Titan that's shiny. It won't sparkle, but it will register in Dex.

Today, I'll talk about all the Meal Powers in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet!
I've touched on various Meal Powers already; this will serve as a megathread for all the information, old and new.
I had to return to SWSH to complete this research, and ended up learning something new.

I managed to change this shiny Murkrow (night spawn) into a shiny Glameow (day spawn).
I found it at night, saved far away from it, rebooted the game, rested until day, then went back to the Pokémon.
Repeating the process for day to night changed it back into Murkrow!

While the Tera Raid boss's shield is active, your final damage is reduced in this way:
- Not Terastallized = 20%
- Terastallized + move is different type = 35%
- Terastallized + move is same type = 75%
This damage value is rounded normally (0.5 rounds up, otherwise round down).

Tera Raids are entirely generated with cryptosecure PRNG, and future raids can't be predicted based on today's raids. This means the date skip shiny raid manipulation from SWSH is not in Scarlet/Violet.
However, rewards are fixed, so share good raid rewards with your friends!

You can push a wild Pokémon in circles around yours during a battle, so I spent yesterday evening taking this outbreak shiny Zoroark all the way to Avalugg's Legacy and catching it with that met location.
I wonder how far you can go. Can Zoroark be dunked in the Hot Springs?

Hilariously, you can legitimately get the National Dex and the Poké Radar with 1 badge.
The only requirements are to get to Eterna City and to have all Pokémon viewed in the Sinnoh Dex!
Ty to @QStheSLAYER for bringing this up and @mattyoukhana_ for looking into the script.

I told Cheryl we can't leave Eterna Forest until both Pokémon were shiny, and finally managed to RNG abuse this today.
I'm currently in the middle of a discussion over which one has to die, because if Wurmple dies, we'll never know what it would have turned into.

The Cianwood anti-softlock Tentacool can be shiny!

Let's put this question/rumor to rest.
In this video, Cresselia's entry doesn't display the shiny form in Dex even though the roaming Cresselia is shiny.
I expect Mesprit to work the same way.
No, you can't use the Dex to check that it's shiny without encountering it.

BDSP's Move Reminder services are free after you give him 10 Heart Scales.
I guess this is a way to be somewhat faithful to the originals while still being a QoL improvement since SWSH had free relearn services.

By the way, here is a table of all the Sandwich ingredients and their modifiers for the Sandwich Powers! Hope this helps you all find good recipes.

I'm not much of a shiny hunter, but I think it's fun to RNG abuse BDSP. I got shiny Starly and shiny Piplup in the same battle!
It does show the trainer before the battle, but the Starly is 16/26/25/31/5/23... wonder what triggers it if it's not 2 IV.
