It came full circle, people are saying WE should be grateful for the EXPOSURE that AI/ML gives us.
So it really was at the end about stealing our work because no one believes artists should be paid fairly for our labor and years of training.

Gosh there is just so much I want to say about this. Artists daily get told to “get a real job”, “are you a starving artist?”, there is very little prestige to enjoy even by larger artists bc the ones that follow artists are.. artists. It’s not the common public often

2) AI/ML are SO fast to steal our art and say "copyright shouldnt exist! Then to turn around and SCREAM I want copyright of my prompts!

There is a Pro-Ai video going around, and honestly I’m really sick of this take. 100$ is SO CHEAP for an illustration. Ai isn’t a tool like photoshop.
If a pro charged 100$ for their Art think about how many drawings they would have to draw a month to live off that.

I’ll tell you my learning experience.
1/2) When I was a bit younger I did an art contest for a big IP and drew these for them. I didn’t win, but they still used the artwork. They made around 10k..

When caught they released this statement.
I don’t understand the bounds companies will go to not pay a living artists.

Ai is replacing begging lvl jobs in the industry making it so artists cant enter without being pro lvl already.
I see Ai on book covers, music videos, and indie games everywhere.

“they always loved my covers, and now my costs are not a barrier for them to have nice covers like I draw”
I still think about what a slap in the face this is to me struggling for years to make a decent paycheck in art

I’ve noticed the ones that claim “I just want to create so I use Ai”.
Do not want to create. They want money, popularity, & followers.
Most artist do not care about follower counts, we just want to draw. No matter who will see or likes.

Artists have been far to kind for far to long
We have let companies, brands, music, authors share our artwork without credit & cropped signatures for a long time in fear of being called selfish
This created a culture that all art is public art for anyone to use.
