Can't get over the ferocity with which Tomino delivers this line.

Here is an amusing photo of Tomino kissing Yoko Taro's mask.

Syd Mead's analysis and breakdown of the original Gundam and the Gundam X. Mead studied Kunio Okawara's Gundam design career in detail and referenced his work countless times when designing his own mobile suits. He had a lot of respect for Okawara's legacy.

It's Turn A Gundam's 23rd anniversary! Here's one of my favorite illustrations by Akiman—a promotional poster for the Japanese DVD Memorial Box releases. #ターンエーガンダム

Turn A Gundam's first episode was applauded by many industry people. Sunrise president Takayuki Yoshii said it gave him chills he hadn't felt since My Neighbor Totoro. Harutoshi Fukui (who'd later pen Gundam Unicorn) sent Director Tomino a fax, unable to contain his excitement.

Just a reminder—there is nothing to suggest that Loran Cehack was originally intended to be a girl. Nothing in Ring of Gundam nor later draft documents. It is simply a fandom myth with no basis in reality. His earliest designs are even more "masculine" in nature. [1/6]

Who's the mysterious voice behind the Turn A Gundam OP title call? I still don't have a name, but I recently got some insight. Apparently they held auditions for this minor role, and the person selected was not a professional. Tomino himself reviewed the audition tapes.

At the request of Director Tomino, manga artist Moto Hagio provided cover art and illustrations for the Shigeru Sato Turn A Gundam novelization. She found interest in Tomino's outlook on war and commitment to humanity in his works.

When Syd Mead accepted the role of mecha designer for Turn A Gundam, he was sent a catalog of previous Gundam designs to study as references. He was particularly fond of the Wing Zero EW and praised its majestic wings.

Finalized color drawings of the Turn X and Bandit by Syd Mead. He was tasked to design them in March~April of 1999, once later portions of the plot began to formalize.

Without a doubt the best plan ever.

At the G-Reco IV & V advance screening, Tomino feigned retirement when asked if he has future works planned. "Please just let me die in peace after this. I'm not planning anything new... wait, that's a lie (laughs)." To massive applause.
