3. Beijing is using the pretext of "terrorism" to frame and suppress all grievances and opposition directed towards the government. Following the imprisonment of legislators and the forced dissolution of the major civil society groups, students are the next to be targeted.

CNN interview last night after the protest. That was NOT a riot. Police were using way too much brutality to the protesters. They should be ashamed of it. #NoChinaExtradition

The Arts Center said it might endanger public order or public safety, which is totally ungrounded. It’s just a convenient excuse for the government to conduct political censorship. Singer and activist Denise Ho banned from top HK venue scmp.com/yp/discover/ne… via @youngposthk

Hi Rep.@IlhanMN, thanks for concerning the rise of Asian hate crime. I think we should not conflate the concepts of regime and people: we need a tough policy on CCP and education on treating everyone equally. Please don't forget CCP commits genocide behaviors to Muslim minority. twitter.com/IlhanMN/status…

I am honored to attend 2020 State of the Union address on Tuesday night as the guest of @SenRickScott. Hong Kong is crucial - it represents the spirit of freedom and democracy in the era of democratic recession. It gets strong bipartisan support and we are all united. #SOTU2020

3/5 Contexts are different, but the scenes have started to blend together. Of being brutally beaten up, jailed, raped in detention, murdered, or of a criminal record that strips away all future opportunities. The young aren't fearless, they are terrified.

The actor Gregory Wong was arrested at his home this morning for charges related to the Legislative Council incident on July 1. He is now in detention at the Wan Chai police headquarters. More details to follow once we hear from his lawyers.

5. These days, I've been speaking to plenty of reporters from the little apartment at which I currently stay. There's always one message I have: Hong Kongers will never give up. We aren't fractured. On the contrary, we're well-equipped to face the next difficult battle.

Any military actions from CCP to Speaker Pelosi's visit are unprovoked and unjustified. China wants to cut Taiwan off from global affairs, which this idea shouldn't have existed in the first place. The visit doesn't break the status quo over sovereignty dispute; only war does.

We continue our battle regardless of where we are. On June 4th, we are hosting a rally with Ukrainian groups in London to remind everyone of the threats from dictators; On June 12th, we are united to light the spirit of Hong Kong protest. Come join us. #StandwithHongKong

shocking to witness BJ mouthpiece Victor Gao’s ill-temper and spread of misinformation. He tried to smear me with the CCP propaganda and depict the 8.18 rally as a violent one, when all parties in court agreed that it was peaceful. He is just shameless. bbc.co.uk/programmes/p09…

2. This photo shows signs written in Chinese: "Do not damage" (right), "Protect the historical relics."(left) in the building. The protestors had a very clear understanding of what they were targeting: they only damaged the symbols representing the authoritarian regime.

Friends in #NA: “#Freedom” is out now. Reflecting on my #SummitforDemocracy remark, it's surely a timely read. The story of Hong Kong is narrated through my life. It is a touching, warm, and insightful touch on why we should protect freedom and democracy. bit.ly/Freedom-Book

3. Shooting a first-aider on the scene, causing him to faint. Other first-aiders had to hold up a large banner with words of warning to halt the attacks against them.

2. Only the voters could determine whether their actions are legitimate. The systematic violence that undermines Hong Kong people's freedom is much worse than the nuisance, which did not injure anyone. Most Hong Kong people supported their actions of voicing for us. -END

It's absolutely disgusting for the shameless @hkpoliceforce, which is part of the authoritarian force that crushes democratic demands from Hongkongers, to quote Gandhi. These people must have forgotten how the peaceful protestors were badly hurt by their violence. DISGUSTING. twitter.com/hkpoliceforce/…
