The largest National Security Law case in Hong Kong has begun. Here are some facts in a 🧵: 1. Around two third of the defendants have been detained for almost two years. They were denied bail on the basis that "they may conduct activities that endanger national security."

I agree that there is a serious public health emergency, but I have no confidence in China given to their track record of concealing information and falsifying records. The outbreak is huge -- and I strongly advise that everyone in the US to be aware. gu.com/p/d72d5/stw

Too bad to see news about Asians being targetted because they wore a mask. Wearing a mask does not mean being sick. It's a protective measure that blocks virus carriers and avoid infecting others when you're symtomless. It's a herd responsibility. Healthy persons can wear masks.

Let me make it clear: the root cause of the escalation of the use of force by the protestors is the police acting with impunity, so that the protestors have to impose even the slightest deterrence effect. Best way to deesculate: implement democratic accountability on police. twitter.com/KasiaMadera/st…

The "fake election" of Hong Kong made it to the headlines. Less than a quarter of the seats in legislature are voted among ALL pro-Beijing candidates. The boycott from Hong Kong people shows there's no mandate to this legislature. Beijing is unhappy. bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0b…

Many celebrities speak up for making money. If they are asked to choose between conscience and big dollar cheque, they will choose later. But @EnesKanter chooses justice as always. He keeps speaking up after #CCP bans Celtics game as retaliation. TRUE human rights advocate.🔥 twitter.com/EnesFreedom/st…

My deepest gratitude is to Chairman @RepEliotEngel, Ranking Member @RepMcCaul, and their House Foreign Affairs Committee for unanimously passing the bill this morning. As we move forward, now is the time for unwavering bipartisan support in both chambers of Congress. #HongKong

It’s graduation season in Hong Kong, and students are demonstrating their attitude in their own creative ways. Proud of you all me fellow Hong Kong citizens! The regime is losing generations of youngsters. How can they rule effectively in the future? #StandWithHongKong

In #China, CCP censors all online platforms and sometimes shuts down the internet in protest sites. Protestors need safe and free internet access to circulate information, and the world needs to know the truth. Should @elonmusk launch Starlink to support Chinese citizens now?

Same thing happened over and over again. It is not a sin for people to fight for their rights and their future. Say NO to police brutality. We hold hands in the journey to freedom. #PoliceBrutalitiy
