Our support for Taiwan should be firm and strong. Leaders from democratic countries should not be deterred from visiting Taiwan and sharing experiences with the government.
Backing down to the Chinese regime will only encourage them to bully more.

No free&fair elections in Hong Kong anymore. Candidates are vetted by political police. Most seats are reserved for pro-CCP colluders.
Democracy is denied and citizens are humiliated, showing how CCP destroys civility and liberties. The world should act now.

I have been advocating tirelessly that the HK police should be banned from enjoying the BNO scheme. They contributed to the erosion of Hong Kong's freedom, directly breaching the joint declaration. We cannot let the people who destroy our freedom benefit from its remedy.

On this day two years ago, in 2019, more than a million people rallied on the streets of Hong Kong.
Many have been prosecuted, injured, jailed, and exiled.
Even though democracy has not prevailed, we believe that eventually it would, as long as we never give up.

We can all ask our friends in telecom industry to verify it. It's important that we can have information on what's happening in there and try to act in advance to protect citizens there. It's a long process to build an internet firewall -- the free world should act immediately.

Had a very constructive and fruitful conversation with the shadow Foreign Secretary @lisanandy and shadow Minister for Asia and Pacific @SKinnock. Exchanged a lot of thoughts on #China & #Hongkong, also action items. More to go. twitter.com/lisanandy/stat…

It takes the situation of #PengShuai to unveil how unchecked the power in China is. Unfortunately, many more are suffering from similar situations — their crime is to speak the truth and demand justice. I hope she can safely return and justice is achieved, so do the others.

The speech from #BTS in #UN was touching and I hope that the encouragement also applies to the freedom fighters in Hong Kong. The message from #RM is the part I like the most.
Keep your faith in the darkest time.

My latest op-ed:
//I am proud to be a Hongkonger, and I will never abandon the pursuit of democracy, which is ingrained in our identity. Even though I am in exile, and have said a seemingly eternal goodbye to the city I love, I do not regret my choices//

“We have to make sure when people think of China they don’t think of economic growth, business opportunities - they think of concentration camps in Xinjiang, the struggle of Hong Kong, people inside mainland China jails.”

2 months of protest and more than 2million of people marching down the street. We are still here to support Hong Kong Democracy.

The purposes of the national security law in Hong Kong are quashing freedom of speech and allowing arbitrary arrests. Period. twitter.com/joshuawongcf/s…

CCP mouthpiece promoted misinformation in a UK program and being busted. He was enraged when he realized his smearing attack did not work. Civility vs barbarity — that’s the difference between democracy and autocracy.

What has South Park has taught us? Sense of humor conquers. That's what the communist regime most lacking when Xi started to ban Winnie the Pooh. We don't want to live in a world that only the joys permitted by the regime are allowed, right?

Today, 500 political police raided Apple Daily, the most critical newspaper in Hong Kong. The editor-in-chief is arrested for “collusion with foreign forces.”
Independent journalism in HK is a crime and threatens China's "national security." How fragile is the country?

It's been a year since the June 9th million rally. We have learnt and lost so much in these 12 months. Yet, one thing does not change: democracy and freedom are still what we deserve and demand. All my international friends, thanks for your support along the way.

Friends from #MilkTeaAlliance and democratic countries, I think all of you should be concerned with the latest developments in #Myanmar:
Mass military presence, firing at citizens, internet cutoff… A potential massacre is happening.
Let's keep tweeting and supporting them.

9. My social media will remain active. I hope, too, that all of you can stand strong to resist the white terror rather than succumb to self-censorship. I’ll also try my best to protect my safety. Please don’t worry about me. I still have faith in the future.

The political reform imposed by Beijing to Hong Kong is in effect degrading the election to SELECTION. Beijing vets out all the pro-Democracy candidates and most of the seats in Legco are reserved for them without election.
The system has lost all credibility.
