In Super Mario 64, whenever Mario touches Bowser's tail, this is stored until the next time the player presses B. If Mario is anywhere close to Bowser at that time (even in front of him), this will cause Bowser's tail to teleport into Mario's hands, making the battle easier.

In Super Mario Sunshine, if Yoshi falls down while touching a wall and Mario rides on him while still next to the wall, their movement speeds will desync. Mario will bounce very quickly while Yoshi will move very slowly.

The first segment of the new Snow theme music in the Super Mario Bros. 3 game style of Super Mario Maker 2 is synced up with the Warp Pipe sound effect and the sub-area loading time. If Mario enters a Warp Pipe in time with the music, he will also exit it in time with the music.
