In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is an error in Mario's "wedding" costume that results in a hole between the model's shirt and trousers, through which the inside of the model can be seen. Although the model originates in Super Mario Odyssey, no such error is present there.

In the original Nintendo 64 version of Paper Mario, the ground in Star Haven has a rainbow effect that recolors the ground based on distance from the camera (top). This effect is hardware-specific and absent from the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console versions of the game (bottom).

Throughout the Mario franchise, gold coins are sometimes shown to be picked up by magnets. Pure gold is not magnetic; however, gold alloys with at least 40% non-gold content can exhibit magnetism. Thus, the coins from the Mario franchise can be assumed to have at most 60% purity.

In New Super Mario Bros., whenever Small Mario ducks, the lower part of his torso deforms in such a way that it goes below ground, lower than Mario's feet. The internal resolution of the game has been increased in the attached screenshots for clearer view.

Paper Mario uses a perspective trick to display the windmill in Gusty Gulch properly. While the blades appear attached to the mill in an ordinary manner during gameplay (left), they are actually floating in front of it (right) to prevent them from clipping into the building.

In Luigi's Mansion, the portrait ghost Neville is seen reading a book (top left). While too blurry to say for certain, the texture for the book (bottom left) seems to depict Mario's head and the words "Mario Story". This could be a reference to the Japanese name for Paper Mario.
