I put off saying anything in the hopes it might come back again, but since it’s ending and I’ve long since moved on, let me publicly pay my own respects (F).
For those who don’t know, I was the head localization editor in the game’s first year. This was truly a dream project. twitter.com/MankaiCompanyE…

Everyone who worked on that title put their all into it, and I know we’re all equally sad to say goodbye. I can tell from the ending date—not only does it end on Sakuya’s birthday, Sakuya’s birthday is 3/9, which can be read as both “saku” and “sankyuu”…thank you.

(And yes, I was the one responsible for “if you catch a cold you’re gonna catch these hands” among others, and that line is STILL one of my favorite translation accomplishments to this day)

This tweet is polling opinions about what age people believe one should stop cosplaying bc it’s a question they often see others wrestling with.
The replies of full of older cosplayers (some 50+) showing off their work and recounting how they never stopped or started late 🥺 twitter.com/emoma_cosplay/…

What cracks me up about this is that it’s a cover of a cover of a Eurobeat song about the USA that became a meme in Japan like 2 years ago and relaunched the career of an old Japanese music group because of the cover Enstars is now covering twitter.com/ensemble_stars…

I think people really misunderstand what doujin means at times.
A lot of times you see it translated as amateur or fan works, but independent is a more accurate way to put it. They can be amateur, and they can be based off of another work, but they can be fully original, too.

I observed an interesting thing some days ago. A TV station in California asked, in a bit shaky Japanese, if they could use the photos from a JP user. I thought I got why JP users were poking fun at it, but it turns out it was for a different reason than I assumed:
