This is not a content problem, it's a Valve platform problem and it's been happening to smaller VN publishers for years. It's only going to get attention now because they shot down something from a larger publisher like Spike Chunsoft, but I doubt it'll get fixed.

I think the Square Enix manga app censorship is probably the work of a machine learning algorithm that slaps black bars on specific line strokes/curves it detects. It would explain why stuff like creases in bent knees have been blotted out. Sheer laziness on Square Enix's part.

Rance series creator TADA is retired, but he consulted with Alicesoft and today released a balance patch for Rance IV (published in 1993).
The patch enables Win 10/11 support, includes BGM support, increases EXP gain, and other miscellaneous fixes.

If you're curious why companies hire expensive firms instead of diverting those resources to compromising or meeting union demands, it's cause it's not about the resources, it's about reinforcing hierarchy. The intent is to break their employees and wait til the audience forgets.
