MAGES. announces massive losses for this fiscal year. Coupled with their current outstanding debts this means the company is entering insolvency. twitter.com/gamebiznews/st…

We boutta see a new wave of webnovels come out of Japan posted 1 chapter per tweet. twitter.com/PopCrave/statu…

Love it when credit card processors necessary to a globalized economy can impose arbitrary puritan values on the cultural outputs of other countries in the form of service rejection. Mm, mm. I love that market.

Thinking about that one old Did You Know Gaming video about Live A Live where it opens with "there is no known confirmation on how the game's name is pronounced" (the ライブ・ア・ライブ logo is on screen during this section).

Bit of a stir with the new Sonic game on Japanese social media. Apparently a lot of the character dialogue, especially Sonic and Amy's, feels like it's been machine translated with very unnatural Japanese. Disappointing if true. Knuckles's dialogue is apparently fine though.

I'm feeling very optimistic about one of the biggest corporate entities in the weeb media industry purchasing the biggest outlet that reports on said weeb media industry. I'm sure this is fine, actually. twitter.com/AnimeNewsNet/s…

When you say "this art is a spoiler" or "the OP is full of spoilers" to someone who is going into something completely blind, it is you who is turning contextless information into a spoiler for that person. Just don't say shit, it's better that way.

As expected. The C;H sitch was a one-off to lose some heat from gaming news sites, now Steam is back to business as usual. Their regular policy for VN submissions is "one try, no resubmissions" btw. twitter.com/jastusa/status…
11
This is not a content problem, it's a Valve platform problem and it's been happening to smaller VN publishers for years. It's only going to get attention now because they shot down something from a larger publisher like Spike Chunsoft, but I doubt it'll get fixed.
12
Either someone specific at Valve has an axe to grind with games that have a certain kind of aesthetic, or there's an informal company policy leading to consistent rejection of most VNs with a school setting. Chaos;Head is far less explicit than many games on the Steam platform.
13
I think the most amusing thing about Chaos;Head Noah being banned on steam is that all the people who aren't in the know about how unfair Valve is with weeb stuff are just going to think C;H has SUPER EXTREME content and that it must have been justifiably nixed. twitter.com/SpikeChunsoft_…

Woke up from my sleep, checked my phone. Saw clip of Tucker Carlson mistranslating 爆乳 (slang for massive titties) as "exploding milk porn" on live TV. Going back to sleep.

Wait. ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM.
OH MY GOD. THAT'S WHY THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE DIRECT IN THE UK.
QUEEN. DEAD. TEARS OF THE (UNITED) KINGDOM.
OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Wonder when they'll add her to F/GO.

The utter fucking gall of Crunchyroll to do this to someone who rose out of the subculture when the site itself originated as a fansub hosting site. Rising out of the fan scene is a natural progression route in this industry, it shouldn't be discouraged or punished. twitter.com/Anime/status/1…

I've done a bit of market research in online communities and such lately but I wanna hear from the otome community directly on here. What otomege or even josei-muke titles would you be interested in seeing come to the west. Also if you play console, what consoles do you play on?

I think it's telling that the weirdos harassing Uchikoshi for his inclusion of gender identity themes in the AI games are angling as if he's pandering or trying for more sales. Like it seems they genuinely can't conceive of him just wanting to include those themes in his writing.
