Today we celebrate Archbishop Janan Luwum. A great contradiction that Museveni has the courage to join the celebration. For perspective, many more critical religious leaders have died mysteriously while others (Muslim Sheikhs) have been shot in broad daylight, under his regime.

1 month since Kavuma Jamushid's abduction, authorities haven't provided information on his whereabouts or condition. His abduction's another example of ongoing repression & violence against dissenters in #Uganda. We demand immediate release of Kavuma & all political prisoners.

We interacted with comrade Alionzi Lawrence 'Dangote,' President-elect of Makerere University's Students' Guild. I commended him for remaining steadfast and uncompromising on the values that unite us in @NUP_Ug even when regime elements tried to subvert the students' will.

The news of the death Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga is shocking. I had the opportunity of being his personal friend over a long time. We agreed and disagreed on many things, but everytime I met him, there was a lot to learn. May his soul rest in peace.

Always humbling to receive messages of solidarity from so many people, but some messages are exceptional. This man walked several miles to bring this 'trophy' which he designed for months, mostly from dry banana leaves. He came in to say, 'thank you for the work'. So humbling.

Apart from being in a smelly place, we ate right in front of our toilet, we moved guided by our sense of touch, since we could not see, we never knew what time of day it was. ... The experience of feeling blind is depressing, you cannot imagine,” Lubega said.

Even if a unity of faith may not be possible, a unity of love is. When we unite, amazing things happen. Happy weekend friends. #UnitedForcesOfChange

Today we remember the sacrifice of late Archbishop Janan Luwum who was martyred for speaking truth to power and standing for the rights of the people of Uganda. We are encouraged by his example that it is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!

We unequivocally dismiss Museveni's move to hold what he calls a 'scientific election', to yet again stage a coup & crown himself life President. We must have a free & fair election. We have advised him not to provoke the PEOPLE of Uganda! Full statement: facebook.com/130737598011/p…

So we got to Kitgum this morning & found a roadblock at the entrance to the district. They said they had orders that we don't step in the district.Earlier, they had lied that our program was clashing with that of another candidate, until late night when we engaged @UgandaEC

Today is my 37th birthday. I am very grateful to God for each day that He has allowed me to live. I do not take it for granted considering the challenges I have gone through over the years, the injustices I've seen people go through & the friends I have lost along the way...

I am very saddened by the news of the crash of an Ethiopian Airline aircraft today. This is so tragic! I send condolences to the families & loved ones of the victims of this terrible accident. May we all pray for them in this very difficult time. Africa mourns! The world mourns!

Even the recent program they've touted as the solution to the poverty they've caused, has already bit hit by corruption! Every few years, they start a new program through which to steal some more. OWC, Emyooga, NAADs, Youth Livelihood Project, etc. But they talk of nationalism!

Thank you @usmissionuganda for this important statement. As Martin Luther King said, "In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." I thank you for not keeping silent about the crude violations on our people by the Museveni regime! . twitter.com/usmissionugand…

Esther Nakajjigo, a young Ugandan activist, devoted her life to the rights of women & girls. Very sad we lost her at such a young age; moreover now when girls experience heightened violations. I join her family in the push to have her body brought home from the US. #EssieBackHome
