Today, we addressed the nation about the present crisis in our country! Hundreds of Ugandans are abducted each day and taken to unknown destinations where they are subjected to horrendous forms of torture, while others have died in those illegal detention centers.

The NUP has today celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with our sisters and brothers from the fraternity of PWDs. We hosted several of them at our headquarters and used the occasion to raise awareness about the plight of these fellow citizens.

They still face challenges like discrimination, lack of proper health facilities, accessibility impediments, challenges in education, etc. We renewed our manifesto commitments to their plight in all sectors. The regime's paid lip service to their welfare, which must be reversed.

Our @NUP_Ug USA leaders headed by Cde. Daniel Kawuma had a productive meeting with US State Dep't on upcoming US-Africa Summit. They raised concerns about invitation to dictators from Africa, including Museveni, and highlighted deteriorating human rights situation in Uganda.
