The US gov't just announced sanctions against Gen. Kale Kayihura, Uganda's former IGP. Kayihura presided over a violent & brutal police which committed so many atrocities on the people of Uganda. Good news to his victims! Strong message to those who occupy these offices today.

The non-violent lumpens of 2019 taking on the violent bandits of the 1980s. Behold some of the proud #PeoplePower hooligans as they love to call us.

Yesterday afternoon, attended the lauch of Dr. Miria Matembe's book, "The Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Betrayed." Classic tale of hope, aspirations and betrayal- the Ugandan story! Every Ugandan needs to read this provoking, revealing book. Got copies for my ghetto people.

Xenophobic attacks in South Africa are very sad, disheartening and disappointing. They must be condemned by all people of good conscience. #SayNoToXenophobia

I've seen gross pictures of a young man who was allegedly attacked by unknown people, hit on the head & had his hands nailed! According to a statement released by police, the 21 year old victim is called Kasumba Baker, resident of Kawempe.

In the ghetto we say, "He who Jah bless, let no man curse." Always uplifting to get prayers, blessings and words of encouragement from clergy across different religions and beliefs. They give us the clarify of thought and the courage to stand against all injustice and evil..

Thank you @DailyMonitor for this article which generally captures my thoughts. We shall soon launch our citizen-led agenda for a new Uganda. The headline on death penalty though is misleading (misquoted). I have always been opposed to mandatory death penalty for obvious reasons.

As Justice Kanyeihamba said, the road to democracy and the rule of law is long, bumpy and unpredictable. But we are confident that with hard work and commitment we shall bring the words of our National anthem to life - "Oh Uganda, the land of freedom, our love and labor we give."

She sends greetings to all comrades in the struggle and encourages all of us to soldier on! I then went to the men’s prison and visited several comrades who are being held on ridiculous charges- including several of them who have been arrested for putting on red berets.

Spent part of today at Luzira Maximum Security prison visiting our comrades who are incarcerated there over different flimsy charges. I started off by visiting Dr. Stella Nyanzi at the women’s prison and I was very glad to find her in very high spirits.

"We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed" - so the old scriptures tell us

Congratulations @Winnie_Byanyima on taking over this role of great magnitude at such a critical time. Tackling the HIV/AIDs epidemic is a responsibility for all of us- we are proud to have you lead us in that effort at the global level. twitter.com/UNAIDS/status/…

"He’s been beaten up, tortured and charged with treason. But 37-year-old Ugandan pop star turned politician Bobi Wine won’t be silenced about corruption. And now he’s aiming to topple his president." -@thetimes Interview by @janeflan thetimes.co.uk/article/bobi-w…

It's exactly one year after Arua. That day, many of us nearly lost lives. My driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot dead. Grateful to the world for standing with us! As we remember that day, may we all recommit ourselves to the struggle for human rights, justice & freedom. #PeoplePower

Back to court for protesting against the social media tax last year! Days ago, I was charged with a fresh criminal case of annoying the President! Persecution disguised as prosecution has always been a tool of despots. But they never win in the end! We shall certainly overcome!

Statement on the unexplained kidnaps, torture and murder of several #PeoplePower supporters & other political activists. The intention of the perpetrators must be to break our spirits, but we shall never, ever give up the struggle for a better country. m.facebook.com/story.php?stor…

Our friend Ziggy Wine could not make it. He passed on last night- succumbing to injuries sustained after a horrendous encounter with kidnap & torture. Very painful! He joins other countless Ugandans. As we mourn him, we resolve to work even harder to end this. Rest well brother twitter.com/HEBobiwine/sta…
