For despots to rule, they must keep the population poor, ignorant and landless! Disempowered! President Museveni has been deliberate about these. The reason he fights our microphone so much is b'se we use it to awaken & empower the people. Too bad for him, we are determined!

"What shall separate us from the love of God? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? .... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Romans 8:35 Happy Sunday folks

Recently security minister Elly Tumwine on @nbstv linked #PeoplePower to some Red Movement which he said is a terrorist group. Usual script! They plan to plant weapons on our supporters, arrest & charge them with treason & terrorism. NOTHING CAN STOP AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME
1879
According to sources within their ranks, the panicky regime plans to stage-manage arrests of some 'operatives' putting on red berets in crime so they declare #PeoplePower a terrorist organisation and ban it! Explains such headlines. We are a non-violent movement! We are watching

For each of our 156 blocked concerts, police lied we didn’t meet some ‘requirements’! On 8th Oct, a police truck delivered this backdated letter, hours before our concert. At the back of the truck were soldiers who immediately surrounded my house to place me under house arrest!

In saying this, he further reveals that we have a gov’t that has no problem telling lies. The police leadership lied in the past that we didn’t meet requirements! He now removes all doubt what a cowardly despot he is! We shall certainly overcome

And finally, President Museveni told @BBCAfrica that he blocks my concerts b’se I discredit his gov’t to foreign investors, and therefore am not entitled to enjoy the country’s prosperity! Laughable yet sad that he admits to rule by decree in blatant disregard of the law.

34 years in power. Ailing education sector. Sick health-care. Sickening poverty levels. Unemployment. State capture. Murders all over. Militarised state. Gross human rights violations. Nepotism. Misuse of power. This is the system Mr. Museveni calls progress and seeks to protect!

Shamelessly Mr. Museveni brands me enemy of Uganda's progress! Mr. President, your first name is corruption, second liar, third despot. You've ran down our country, killed our people, destroyed institutions and rule us through the barrel of the gun! You are the enemy of Uganda! twitter.com/BBCAfrica/stat…

On this day twelve years ago, an iconic, conscious reggae artiste was murdered. Continue resting in power #LuckyPhilipDube. Even in death, your voice continues to inspire us, because no body can stop reggae.

“The revolution and women’s liberation go together. We do not talk of women’s emancipation as an act of charity or because of a surge of human compassion. It is a basic necessity for the triumph of the revolution. Women hold up the other half of the sky” - Thomas Sankara

Honored to take part in #Felabration2019, Lagos. Here to celebrate the great Fela Kuti, a musical giant who used his voice to fight for freedom & social justice. I challenged contemporary artistes to take a cue from Fela. Great to meet Prof Wole Soyinka &other legendary activists

Gen. Museveni, so afraid of a critical microphone is doing everything to silence it. He recently registered himself as a musician in another desperate attempt to counter us. Has been attending concerts of his praise singers. All we say, let there be fairness! This is our country

Since 11:00pm, police & military surrounded my home & my private property, One Love Beach Busabala, in yet another move to place me under house arrest & block our Independence Day music concert. 156th concert so far! For singing truth to power, I can't perform in my own country.

For carrying a live coverage of police brutality against me and our supporters in April, Ugandan media houses NTV, NBS, BBS, Bukedde TV and Radio Sapientia have been threatened with revocation of their licenses. Usual script for all despots. Eventually, they fall. Aluta continua

I've personally watched and followed the #EAGT show but in bits because of busy schedules and I must say I was impressed by Esther and Ezekiel. You out did yourself and the win was indeed well deserved. You made Uganda proud.

James Akena, award winning photo-journalist with @Reuters was brutally clobbered by the military in Kampala, for covering the #FreeBobiWine protests! Now confined to a wheel chair. No one charged, over a year later. Our struggle to end these untold gross violations is very urgent

As I drove to Rubaga cathedral to attend the #CelebrityMass under the theme "God is good" I stumble upon this video which speaks volumes. This is Anglican Archbishop of York John Sentamu who allowed to be used by God to call out President Mugabe to free the people of Zimbabwe.
