Amidst increasing repression, over 50 #PeoplePower supporters & an independent journalist are spending nights in different prisons across the country. Nine were arrested for working with me on a music project! The heightened repression only increases our resolve to soldier on.

This is how Matilda Powers, a young female artiste was arrested by the military and police for singing a song critical to the regime in Uganda! Pushed underneath seats on the police truck & held for days. We shall only compose more songs and do more work, until Uganda is free.

A sobering reality captured in this cartoon. Unfortunately, those who refuse to learn from history end up becoming the lesson of history. We struggle so that one day, our security agencies will serve Uganda, and not a man's desire to keep in power at whatever cost.

Today we laid to rest comrade Kyeyune Dan in his home village in Namayumba, Nakaseke Constituency. Let me convey heartfelt gratitude to all of you patriotic sisters and brothers who withstood intimidation and showed up to bid farewell to this soldier.

The tragedy of living under dictatorship! After murdering our supporter & comrade, police took over the body and restricted access. Later in the night, they drapped the casket in an NRM flag! They denied him dignity in life and are now mocking him in death. We shall overcome

Very glad to have our comrades out of illegal detention earlier today. I convey gratitude to our legal team for working very hard to secure their release. The struggle shall be won- history is on our side, the people are on our side & GOD is on our side too.

The repression continues everywhere as security forces intensify the crackdown on all pro-democracy actors. Dr. @kizzabesigye1 is still detained at Nagalama having been blocked from addressing the people in Bugiri. When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes a duty!

Criminals putting on police uniform murdered our comrade Ritah Nabukenya. We demanded for the CCTV footage after police tried to deny responsibility. Now they say the cameras were faulty! The blatant lack of shame! We must stop at nothing to demand that justice is delivered. twitter.com/DailyMonitor/s…

What a country! What a time! This evening as we returned from the burial of Ritah Nabukenya who was murdered by police yesterday, police & LDU shot at the crowd of people who were waving at me. Dan Kyeyune died on spot, others sustained severe injuries. It is totally dark here

Meanwhile as we still mourn our comrade #RitahNabukenya who was murdered by @PoliceUg, yesterday, 10 of our friends with whom we have been working on a music project where rounded up by police including the video directors and camera crew.

Several journalists went to Nakawa to speak to eye witnesses about the knocking dead of comrade Ritah Nabukenya. Witnesses have all been intimidated and ordered not to speak to any journalist about what they saw. As always, police wants to lie about what happened. #Justice4Ritah

Very sad day! Yet again, a leader of the People Power Movement has been murdered by the Museveni regime. Police officers in a patrol vehicle saw comrade Rita Nabukenya donning our attire, drove after her and knocked her dead in broad daylight. We must end this regime of blood

For your jailers expected you to come out broken, but you came out stronger. They thought you were crushed, but the oppression has only increased your resolve. Yes, the struggle is our life, and we shall certainly overcome!

Dr. Stella Nyanzi, I'm challenged by your boldness before a despot; inspired by your courage in the face of oppression & encouraged by your optimism that Uganda will be free. As I watched you leave Luzira prison after 18 months, I couldn't have felt prouder to call you comrade!

Troubled by the news coming in from South Africa that our brother & fellow artiste Pallaso has been terribly attacked and hurt in what is said to be a xenophobic attack. I wish you the quickest recovery young King, and hope that the authorities will quickly investigate this.

Yesterday, a colleague MP invited us to his father's thanksgiving in Kasanda district. On arrival people were very happy to see us. The DPC pleaded that we leave so he doesn't lose his job. He then declared the ceremony illegal and police descended on the crowd with brute force!

The death of Basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna is devastating. Kobe was not only a giant in sports, he was also a towering example of excellence in every sense. The world is certainly poorer without him. How heartbreaking to die with his daughter! Rest well
