Part of the reason why torture is still going on in Uganda is because some citizens say "its happening to others and not me/us" - Imam Kasozi.

On 18 Nov. 2020, Baker Kato was driving a taxi full of passengers when members of dictator M7's SFC guard waved him to stop. Upon seeing him putting on a #PeoplePower red beret, they shot him in the head. He died 2 days later. #M7Nov2020MassacreUg #BringBackOurPeople

Abdul was abducted w/ his bro Yusuf in 2021. For months, they were detained & tortured. His bro eventually died in the safe house, next to Abdul. He remained with the body of his brother rotting next to him for 5+ days until soldiers dissolved it in acid. #M7Nov2020MassacreUg

We're in Kenya at the 🇺🇬 Human Rights Conference to demand justice for the 100+ people shot dead on dictator M7's orders during presidential campaigns btn 18 & 20 Nov. 2020. Thanks Kenya National Commission on Human Rights for standing with us when our own Commission can't.

WHERE IS KAVUMA JAMUSHID? WHERE ARE OUR PEOPLE? #BringBackOurPeople #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

Screening again at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam, at the Podium Mozaiek. We shall spare effort to expose the atrocities committed against Ugandans by Gen Museveni's criminal regime. #BringBackOurPeople #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

Everywhere the film has premiered it is received with shock and dismay. This film is especially about the sacrifices so many comrades and friends continue to make in our quest for a better nation. I am optimistic that our struggle will end in victory!

Last night at the Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam, our documentary was watched by hundreds of people. Such a humbling experience to see the love and solidarity! Glad that through this film, the world is getting to understand the criminal enterprise which rules our country.
362
How Museveni's thugs abduct hundreds of people - at times in full glare of the media. The regime doesn't care at all because there have largely been no consequences for these crimes against humanity. We continue to ask all 'development partners' to STOP FUNDING OUR OPPRESSION!
363
I don't know what's happening to our brother Kavuma Jamushid right now ever since he was abducted 8 days ago. He joins hundreds of our people who have been abducted and are still missing. Reminds us of what we must do to free our country from a brutal military regime!

The hypocrisy of the so called intellectuals of our time. You can be sure that one day he will say "I regret presiding over a judiciary that tried civilians in military courts and denying bail to political prisoners. #ChiefInjustice twitter.com/SarahBireete/s…

This evening as Kiryowa Kiwanuka concluded his lies about torture at the UN, comrades from the Ugandan diaspora in Switzerland went in and courageously confronted him! SUPER PROUD OF YOU LADIES. Thank you for making sure that the shameless lies do not go unchallenged.
366
I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by the lies Kiryowa Kiwanuka has been telling with a straight face at the UN Committee Against Torture on M7's behalf. Denying existence of torture chambers, abductions, rape, etc! You can't serve M7 & not become a consummate liar yourself!

"It is clear why Africa’s autocrats favour the Russian position: they don’t want to be held accountable... they believe in the rule of the jungle, not the rule of law. Ukraine’s resistance is a challenge and an example to Africa’s democrats." Full piece: dailymaverick.co.za/article/2022-1…

Well, that is the price we'll keep paying until we put a stop to it. The oppression boda boda riders are facing will eventually be 'customised' to apply to other sectors of the economy. The sooner we we put an end to this, the better for all of us otherwise #FennaTujjakiwulira.
369
Most importantly, we know that the regime isn't really interested in enforcing the law, but is just smartly creating an opportunity for its officers to pay themselves thru soliciting bribes in exchange for the motorcycles. Such schemes are not strange in rogue regimes like ours.
370
We appreciate the importance passenger safety and observance of law & order. However, the underlying motives of this operation are suspect. After all, the regime's true intention is to ban bodas from the city (because most of the riders, for good reason, don't support it).

Without any alternative source of income, many of them might now resort to criminal activity to provide for their families. This is always the result when a regime haphazardly conducts large scale operations that have the effect of crippling a particular industry.
372
By today, over 6000 boda-bodas have been impounded in Kampala during the operation by Police to 'enforce' traffic law. Most of the affected riders are low income earners who have already been struggling to earn a living in after COVID-19 and its disastrous effect on our economy.

"What did I do to him or his family to deserve this?" "Namukolaki?" Mzee Hajj Abdul Nadduli asked at least 3 times when we met! Just been informed that at least 7 of his family members were violently abducted by drones in the wee hours of the morning. We all need to pray for him.
