How sad! Such despicable actions only prove to us that ours is a right cause, and we must never give up until this madness stops. Joseph, we stand with you. May mzee's soul rest in peace. twitter.com/SabitiJoseph/s…

We call for the immediate release of the protesting ladies, for they committed no crime whatsoever. Their constitutional right to dignity and peaceful protest must be respected. We reiterate our demand that all political prisoners be freed unconditionally. #BringBackOurPeople

Well, that is the price we'll keep paying until we put a stop to it. The oppression boda boda riders are facing will eventually be 'customised' to apply to other sectors of the economy. The sooner we we put an end to this, the better for all of us otherwise #FennaTujjakiwulira.

For years, many have been killed & others violently arrested. Those detained are usually subjected to grave torture, and long periods of imprisonment without trial. Most times, they're acquitted by courts for lack of evidence. Sadly, no one is held accountable for these crimes!

Welcome back home Hon. @ZaakeFrancis. Saw how you were manhandled on arrival, but man, these things give us more reason to struggle on & ensure that no citizen is treated like an outcast in his or her country. I am very glad that your spirit is even more resolved. We'll overcome!

We hear that Pte. Turyatunga — who was in UPDF's 105th Battalion and served in Somalia under UGABAG [Battle Group] 31 — was subsequently stripped of his pension and other benefits following the conviction. The double standards!

I hope this finds you in good health and well being Mr. president @KagutaMuseveni

Many thanks to @Atulinda_Allan, a BBC photographer who put his camera down, quickly responded to the call, and gave Sweet Pepsi the life saving help. When protectors turn against citizens, citizens can only find it within themselves to protect each other. We shall overcome!

Statement on the unexplained kidnaps, torture and murder of several #PeoplePower supporters & other political activists. The intention of the perpetrators must be to break our spirits, but we shall never, ever give up the struggle for a better country.

On our part, we condemned the rampant abductions and the trial of civilians in military courts. I charged our leaders, especially the religious and cultural leaders, as well as journalists to speak out against the terrible, horrific abductions of our people!
