I am devastated by the news of a serious earthquake in south & southwest Haiti, and on behalf of the people & government of Taiwan want to express our deepest condolences to everyone affected. Taiwan stands ready to assist Haiti in rescue & recovery efforts.

今年是相當辛苦的一年，突如其來的全球疫情，打亂了我們每天的步調，改變了每個人的日常生活，衝擊了每個國家的社會秩序。
但還好，我們生活在台灣。我們彼此合作，團結實現了民主防疫的成就，也讓國際看見了台灣這座堅韌之島的特質和能耐。
新的一年，讓我們一切都好。

本日は、台湾中部の９２１大地震から２０年です。日本から多くの支援をいただいたことは、今も我々の心に深く刻み込まれています。東日本大震災時、台湾人が被災地を支援したのは、２０年前の日本の支援に勇気づけられたからです。今日は改めて心から感謝の気持ちを伝えます。「ありがとう！日本！」
